1980 Honda CX500 Custom bobber cafe Up for sale, a recently completed Custom Honda CX500 cafe bobber style bike. There is an option of "make offer", so don't hesitate to submit one. Started with a clean, low-mile 1980 donor bike with clear title. (see attached pictures of donor bike to see how clean it already was). I have a video of bike running which includes a walk around. I do about 1-2 builds per year in my spare time after work. I have completed a dozen builds. Several have been sold around the country and a few were shipped overseas (New Zealand and UK). I have been featured in bikeexif, silodrome, bike shed, bikebound and return of the cafe racers. I only mention this because this is not my first endeavor. Now to the bike: Everything on the bike is rebuilt or new. It was completely stripped down and every nut, bolt, seal, part, etc was inspected/ cleaned/ replaced/ renewed. I completed this bike over the winter. It runs, drives, shifts like it should. It has won local awards at bike shows. I am selling to fund my next project. Features the following: Engine- complete top end rebuild with genuine Honda OEM gaskets. triple bypass procedure (do a search for this if you don't know what it means) new clutch plates and heavy duty springs brand new Custom rewind charging stator all new radiator fan blade, hoses, thermostat all new OEM gaskets, seals, O-rings brand new genuine Honda CAM chain and both cam chain guidescarbs cleaned, rebuilt and re-jetted appropriately with all new seals and gaskets- rebuilt specifically for the exhaust and POD filtersCX500 specific Murray's POD filters. (these aren't $5 ebay pods, these are better than K&N and were costly). new petcock, all new fluids (oil and radiator), new hoses everywhere. engine cleaned prior to reassembly- no dirt or grime. Exhaust- Murray's Carbs custom upswept exhaust adapter brand new Harley Dyna slip ons titanium wrap Electrical: simplified wiring harness custom made from high quality automotive wire and OEM style connectors new chrome headlight and LED taillight concealed switches for start and kill buttons new ignition switch brand new ignitech electronic ignition setup mosfet regulator/ rectifier brand new Shorai lithium ion pack new brake switches Acewell 4553 digital gauge that cost over $350. This gauge has digital tachomter, speedometer, air and engine temperate, neutral light, tach shift warning light, oil pressure light, engine temperature light. I also upgraded it with a mechanical to digital speedometer cable (elimated any unsightly magnets that most other digital speedometers use). Wheels/suspension: all new wheel bearings rebuilt brakes with braided steel lines Avon speedmaster front wheels with heavy duty tube Shinko Classic rear tire with heavy duty tuberebuilt front forks with polished fork lowersall balls headstock tapered bearingsrebuilt and greased shaft drive system with new seals Body: stock tank is rust and dent free with a pristine interior. not a speck of rust. tank was just custom painted with heavy silver metallic, candy cherry and clear Tank badges are OEM metal vintage Winged Honda logo seat is genuine black distressed leather with silver stitching custom bobbed front (stock) and rear (XS650) fenders all the silver areas seen on bike are heavy silver metallic powder coat with UV protective clear powder coat over top rear shocks are stock Harley Davidson XR1200 misc: everything on bike is rebuilt or new. New master cylinder, new cables and perches, etc. I have a couple hundred "shakedown" miles on the bike and there have been no issues. Located near Milwaukee. Buyer responsible for transporting bike.
