1978 VW Bus Camper (Pop-Top). This van runs and drives with a 2017 safety sticker. Consider this a project vehicle and should be gone through before taken on any long trips. This camper was my retirement project, but I have run out of time and energy. I have most receipts and more pictures. Mechanically -- It fires right up. Shifts fine through all gears. GEX ‘Premium’ Rebuilt Engine (1600cc dual port, long block) installed in 2009. Engine fitted with new heads, hydraulic lifters, down draft carburetor, ¾ quarter cam, new sleeves, lager pistons, new Bosch alternator, and a heavy-duty oil pump. Brakes OK with new master cylinder and brake shoes. Emergency brake system is not working. 5 new tires mounted on powder-coated rims. Glass is good including a new back window from VW Germany. Speedometer rebuilt. Body -- The pictures speak for themselves. Please message me if you would like to see anything I may have missed. The pop-top tent is fair with a couple of holes, but the upper bed is in good shape. Interior – I recovered the front seats, rear bench, and rear cushion.
