This is a 1963 Comet S-22 convertible that was saved from the crusher. This car needs complete restoration top to bottom. I purchased it from the original family that bought it new. She did not know what to do with it when her father died in 1991. This car has been sitting in one position (outside, in the Colorado elements) since ~2005, until I got it late May 2017. There is rust on the floors and interior, carpet and top needs upholstering. (Top material is totally gone). The motor was rebuilt in 1989 and may only have ~5000 miles since then. Odometer reads 79k and was turned over once. It was repainted red in the ‘70s, but the original color was gold/silver with a black top. The car runs and drives good. Has a 6 cyl 170 with 2-speed cruise-o-matic and nice exhaust system. Good 13” tires all around. Interior is the S-22 option with bucket seats, console with special inside/outside badging, two-tone steering wheel, beautiful horn-ring, AM radio, and electric retracting top. Top goes up or down within 12 seconds. There is not a boot for the top but, snaps and trim are there. Windshield is cracked but the side and wing windows are good. Missing left front fender upper strip and 2 rear tail lights.Please ask any questions you have and I will try to reply the same day. I, myself, cannot afford to restore this car, but I didn’t want to see it get crushed or spend any further time outside and be ruined. It is worth fixing for the right person and is near 100% complete.
