Vehicle Detail
1970 Dodge Charger 500Factory Big Block N-Code 383NO RESERVE!! Up for auction is a 1970 Dodge Charger 500 Project Car. I rescued this car from the scrap yard a few months ago, but I already have too many projects as it is, so I figured I would pass it along to someone looking for a project or parts car. The car is an original B5 Blue car with B5 Blue interior and seems to have been optioned pretty well. The car was originally an N-code 383ci car with a 727 automatic transmission and an 8 3/4 rear end. I did not check to see if it was a Sure Grip rear end or not. The car had factory A/C as well as AM/FM radio, factory rear speaker in the package tray, rocker moldings. It was definitely a very good looking car. Currently, the car has a 1966 383ci in it which is locked up, but there are plenty of good parts left on it. There are HP manifolds on the engine as well. I tried to see if the transmission was original to the car, but I wasn't able to reveal the numbers. In the 1970s, the car was repainted a darker shade of blue and it had a stripe that went down the side and over the trunk lid. A half-vinyl top and trim was also added, and is not original to the car. I do not believe the car even had a vinyl top originally. I found a 1982 license plate in the car and it wouldn't surprise me if it has been off the road since then. The car is very complete for the most part, but as you can see... it is in need of an overall restoration. Every panel on the car has rust, damage, body filler, or all of the above. The front and rear floor pans, as well as the trunk pan will need replacing. The rear rails will need replacing and the front rails and torsion bar crossmember will need a little bit of work as well. The hood, taillights, air cleaner, and radiator were not on the car when I got it. The driver side door is jammed and I am not able to open it. The passenger side door glass and driver side rear quarter glass are busted, and as you can see,,, the windshield is cracked as well. I do not have a key for the trunk but have snapped pictures through the tail light opening. On the passenger side, there is a little bit of damage to the rain gutter (right behind the wing glass... as seen in the pictures). All of that being said... the best thing going for this car is that it is a true factory big block Charger and that it is mostly complete. All of the dash is intact, the AM/FM radio is there, the bucket seats, console, steering column, headliner bows, rear speaker... everything is still there on the interior. Even the radio knobs and ignition key are still there! The tail light panel trim, which is very hard to find, looks to be in nice shape as well. I checked under the rear seat and inside the bucket seat backs and was not able to locate a build sheet. There was not a fender tag with the car either. The car rolls and steers freely. The driver side torsion bar is snapped in two and I currently have a block of wood between the lower control arm and frame rail to support that side. You'll notice the car sits lower on the driver side because of this. I also put blocks of wood in the rear to help support the sagging tail end from the rusted rear frame rails. The wheel that are pictured on the car ARE NOT INCLUDED in the sale. They are a set of rollers that go on my Super Bee. The original Rally wheels that were on the car when I bought it will be included in the sale. The tires are dry-rotted and would not hold air. If I have time, I might try to mount a set of junk tires on those rims to help out. But If I'm not able to, please plan to bring your own set of rollers or receive the car with four flat tires on the original 14in. Rallies. When I got the car from the scrap yard, I did not get a title with it. I will be selling the car with a notarized Bill of Sale only and no title. The car is located in Jackson, Mississippi. I will be able to assist with loading the car but the buyer is responsible for all shipping and transporting arrangements. Buyer pays a $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours after the auction ends. The remaining balance must be paid in full and clear prior to, or at the time of pick up. Cash in person is fine. Any personal checks, cashier's checks, or money orders must clear the bank before the vehicles is released for transport. Please make proper arrangements before transporting the vehicle. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!! I feel like I have given an honest description of the vehicle, but please feel free to contact if you have any questions or picture requests. NO, I do not have a Buy it Now price. Please bid what you are willing to pay. There is NO RESERVE on the auction, so the car will sell for the final bid price. I will not negotiate on the price after the auction has ended. Thank you for looking at my auction. On May-07-17 at 20:09:02 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL PICTURES Ebay only allows 24 pictures.
