Vehicle Detail
Restore a Tiger, Build an Alger, Part it out. 1965 Sunbeam Tiger and 1967 Sunbeam Alpine. Tiger was in an accident and front end was wrecked. This is a major project to restore the Tiger but if you know anything about these cars you know the values are way up in recent years. Tigers are selling from $50,000 to over $100,000 so it would be worth the effort.Sunbeam Tiger's were a marriage of a Sunbeam Alpine Body (from England) and a Ford V8. The original prototyping for this was done by Carroll Shelby, father of the Cobra, a similar British-American combination. These cars are rare beautiful when restored and have monster performance with the V8 in a small British Car A Sunbeam Alpine is included and appears to have everything except the original 4 Cylinder Alpine Engine. I believe most of that parts for both cars are included. See pictures for what comes with the sale. The Tiger drive-train is all there but the engine needs a rebuild and the bell housing on the transmission needs to be replaced. There is a rebuild kit for the top-loader transmission included. The Tiger V8 260 engine would need a rebuild and the intake manifold has a crack and would need to be welded or replaced. There is also a chunk of the block that is broken off near where it connects to the bell housing. My understanding from researching this is it can be cold-welded and repaired. I don’t know a lot about the history of these two cars. I bought them as a combined project but just don’t have the time to take on such a large restoration / build. The Alpine has a clear, open New Jersey title. The Tiger has a New Jersey Salvage title. I can provide a notarized bill of sale and help with any other documentation needed. Please feel free to ask any questions. I can be reached at 859-433-0631 or send me a message through eBay. While I can't change the auction, since there are already bids on it, I will be happy to facilitate contact between the winning bidder and others if the winning bidder desires to take only one of the two cars. I can't guarantee a deal will be struck but will try to help in any way possible.
