Up for auction is this nice 1978 GS1000E survivor. Bike was stored in a basement since 1982. The previous owner told me he had a low speed slide at that time and having just started a family he decided to put it away. Please see pictures of the minor rashes on the right hand side engine guard, exhaust and brake lever. Being stored in his house he drained all fuel from the tank and carbs. After taking possession I put some oil in the cylinders, installed a brand new AGM battery, cranked the engine and checked for spark. I hooked up an auxiliary fuel line and the bike fired right up. After warm up the bike did not smoke or make any unusual noises. The carbs did leak out the overflow hoses. I did not fill the tank and do not know the condition of the petcock. The brakes are not locked and all lights are in working order. Inside of the tank is clean but there is a small ding and some minor paint chips on the tank, some slight pitting of the chrome on the front fender, rear shocks and fork tubes.The bike has an aftermarket S style fairing, and the mirrors appear to be replacements. Please examine photos closely before bidding This is a no reserve auction going to the highest bidder. I will not end the auction early nor is this bike for sale anywhere else.
