Vehicle Detail

*** UPDATE ON THE OIL LEAK FOR YOU WATCHERS OUT THERE ***Purchased in 1999 from Cycle Werks Barrington with 24,000 miles, it now has 44,000 +, ethanol free gas since 2009. Paint and chrome are good, one scratch in the gas tank. A small oil leak around the neutral switch and around the pan – I suspect that’s from not being ridden enough the last few years. UPDATE There is a drop of oil between the left head and the cylinder as the bike cools down. Sometimes this will get on your boot as you ride, but SOMETIMES and we're talking drops, not teaspoons. I talked to Oak about this when first noticed with no definitive conclusions - I put up with it because the bike runs so well. Extras: Factory S Fairing, working clock and voltmeter, classic Avus Black throughout (not standard in 1978, this was repainted by Cycle Werks), San Jose fork brace, properly set up, Krauser bags shown, the keys to lock them on the bike work, latch keys don’t, LED tail light assembly and electronic voltage regulator from Motoraad Elektric, Euro headlight switch, headlight and horn relays to save the handlebar switches, Auxiliary plug for your electric vest, A complete tool kit including Dowatat tire irons as recommended by Duane Ausherman. Most maintenance has been done by me following Airhead Cannon #6, only after much research both in print and online. Recently: Overhaul steering head bearings and fork 2016, All fluids changed fall 2016, Wheel bearings by Thoroughbred Motors 2013 at 43K, Avon Roadriders F/R at 42K.Included ONLY with the Buy It Now price: A three inch thick binder with technical articles from BMWMOA and other sources, Luftmeister exhaust nut wrench – heads have been treated with anti-seize annually, Paul Tavenier point setting tool, swingarm socket A bunch of spares including Noris points, aftermarket alternator rotor with puller, OEM diode board, various gaskets and such, Tank bag, sheepskin seat cover, Helen Twowheels stuff sacks shown in the last pic, A pile of OEM cables some new, some not. Here is an excellent way for anyone not familiar with Airheads to get into these wonderful classic machines with a reliable bike that needs nothing now, with all you need to take that dream road trip.Terms are $500 Paypal deposit within 48 hours, Balance CASH on pickup at a local bank. If you want the bike shipped, I will work with you to get it to someone local, but but you do all the arrangements, and a cashier’s check has to clear my bank before I drop it off.NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS. I’ll be happy to answer any questions, thanks for looking.
