Vehicle Detail

**Vehicle is also offered for sale locally, so I may end the auction early** Open to receive offers is a 2004 BMW E46 M3 SMG with 129,600 miles, all stock. This vehicle is in good running condition, see full discussion about the specifics below. Subframe has been professionally reinforced on this vehicle, a $3k fix; see below for more information. Things that a potential buyer should know: This is an SMG car with approximately 130,000 miles. At some point within the next few thousand miles, the SMG pump may need to be replaced, which is maybe around $3k to have it done professionally. I don’t currently experience any problems with the current SMG pump, but I have noticed that if the car gets driven in heavy stop-and-go traffic with repeated shifting for an hour or more, the car might throw a code for the transmission. Usually, just pulling over and letting the pump cool down for a bit makes the code go away. I don’t experience that code often because this car is just a weekend car for me and it doesn’t get driven very much. I’m currently trying to get the car smog checked in California just in case I decide to renew the registration which is expiring soon. The car is currently not passing smog check and it’s because a couple of the OBD computers are not ready. I just need to drive this car for a bit and put a few more miles on it in order for the computers to reset and the car should then pass smog checks after that. As mentioned, the car doesn’t currently get driven very much, so I haven't really had a chance to allow the computers to reset. The paint has a few small imperfections and a decent size scratch on the front left fender, a small paint imperfection on the roof, and a very small half-inch dent behind the driver side door. Otherwise, the rest of the titanium silver paint is in good condition. There are some wear marks on the driver’s seat, but all of the other seats and the rest of the interior are clean and free of wear marks. Based on the AutoCheck report, the vehicle has had 5 owners and has been in 2 accidents, both prior to my ownership. It seems the accidents were fairly minor because the car drives fine and everything is in good working condition. Aside from that, no other issues with the AutoCheck and I hold clean title to the vehicle. This vehicle was subject to the Takata airbag recall and both driver/passenger airbags have been replaced per the recall. Regarding the subframe, these particular E46 M3s were susceptible to cracking developing at a certain part of the subframe. This particular vehicle has had the subframe professionally reinforced by a BMW specialist shop. The reinforcement ran approximately $3k and I have documentation for this and all other services that were performed during my approximately 2 years of ownership. Overall, the vehicle is in good running condition, all services/repairs performed when needed, and there are no items currently that require immediate repair, and I have spent approximately $15,000 on repairs/replacement of various items on the vehicle in the last 2 years. Aside from the SMG pump mentioned above, you could potentially be getting an M3 with a significant amount of repairs and new items put into it.
