Vehicle Detail

FOR SALE: A 1985 Honda VF1100s V65 Sabre. I bought this bike out of Wisconsin in February 2010. It was a barn find with 17,000 miles on it and it was my fair weather work transportation through the fall of 2015. It currently has 44,744 miles and was not plated in 2016. The bike runs and drives and is in fair shape but it is 32 years old and has some issues that I don't wish to address. It is a liquid cooled, shaft drive, 1098 cc 4 stroke that can still get up and move. It has a 5 speed plus overdrive transmission. The bike was only made in 1984-1985 and at that time was one of, if not the fastest production bike of the era. It is a tall bike with a high horsepower to weight ratio and probably is not for a novice rider. The GOOD: Its all there! Has new rear brake rotor, the starter has been rebuilt and new starter relay installed, it has a good battery and all electric options work, the radiator has been out, boiled and painted with a new radiator cap. The seat is good. I have an owners manual and two keys. The BAD: The gauges were fogged badly when I got it. I cleaned it up the best I could and everything is viewable, It uses about 1 to 1 1/2 quarts of oil every 5,000 miles or so depending on how hard you ride it, the bike has a 10 foot paint job but does have scratches, mars, some rust on crash bars and some fuel oxidation on the tank, there is a chip out of the right side rear seat cowling, the side panels are re-engineered to stay on but are still removable. The left rear turn signal stem is supported with electrical tape. The exhaust system whispers. I would say the most pressing issue is the inside of the gas tank was "creamed" before I got it and with time and sitting the cream has come off the side walls of the tank. I would say it needs to be fixed before the bike is run much to avoid contaminants in the fuel system and carbs. It will need front and rear tires. This is a great bike that's fun to ride and becoming quite a collector. You could put a few dollars into it and have a great daily rider or go all out with a restore and have something that will only increase in value. Sale is final and as-is with no warranty of any type. I will not ship. Thanks for looking, happy bidding, contact me with any questions. NO RESERVE!!!
