Vehicle Detail
Third owner. 62,000 mile VERY original car! All original sales documentation and original Protect-O-Plate, even the tags from the radio and climate control! Original white with saddle interior. Original saddle vinyl top looks beautiful in this color combination. Some very rare original options including: rear "Air Ride" suspension (can be adjusted by inflating or deflating), very rare 3 light side markers, passenger side mirror, power windows, rear anti-sway bar, tilt wheel, bucket seats and console shifter. The car has an AM radio, with a vintage FM adaptor installed in the glove box. No holes were drilled in the dash or glove box. The car came with AC, however, the second owner removed the compressor and bracket when it quit working. He bought a working compressor, but it has never been re-installed. The wiring is all there under the hood and the new compressor, bracket, hoses and belt are included. Just needs installed and charged. Here's the story of the car as told to me from the second owner: This car was sold new in 1971 to an older lady about 30 miles from here. When the original owner died, the second owner bought it from her estate with only 17,000 miles on the clock in 1996. At that point the car had been sitting in a garage, undriven since approximately 1984 when the woman could no longer see well enough to drive. The second owner went through the car, got it roadworthy again and drove it another ~40,000 miles or so over the next 16 years. At some point in the early 2000's, it was repainted in the original Buick Arctic White. He also re-carpeted the trunk and replaced the door and trunk seals at that time. I bought the car in 2012. The only thing I've done since owning it is re-upholster the front seats, install an original year-correct, factory remanufactured Quadra jet carb and new tires. Less than a year after I bought it, my wife had our first son. The car has only been driven a couple of times since. I lost storage for the car when we moved into our current house 3 years ago. That was the last time it was driven. It has been sitting with a cover on it in the driveway ever since. I last started it early last summer. I had to jump start it then. The battery is dead and probably needs replaced. The car needs gone through, fluids changed, etc to be roadworthy again. I have another baby on the way and don't have the time to take care of it the way it deserves. Time to find it a new home. The car cleans up nicely, as you can see, although I didn't clean under the hood. It does have some areas letting it down. Could do with a repaint to be perfect, but a good driver quality car. The worst spots are a bubble in front of the driver's rear wheel, and the bottom front of the passenger door. At some point, it was also keyed down the passenger side. I tried to get pics of all the problem areas. The floor pan is rust free, solid and original, as is the frame. In fact, the only things that are NOT original, as far as I know, are paint, front seat upholstery and trunk carpet. Even the vinyl roof is original! The carpet, headliner, and rear seats are original and in good condition. The dash is original and like new. Power windows work. Glass is original and in good shape. Chrome is all original, shiny, with minor pitting consistent with age. Tires match and are like new (<2000 miles). I can't get pics under the car, because I don't have access to a lift, but prospective buyers are welcomed and encouraged to inspect the car in person, or hire a professional to look over the car. I've tried to be as honest as possible, and describe every flaw I know of...HOWEVER, this is a 45 year old used car, it's been sitting for 3 years, and may have flaws or problems I am not aware of. I don't have time to go through the car and check it from stem to stern, but it did start, run and drive perfectly before it was parked. Cruises down the highway like a dream. I even took it to Toronto and back the first summer I owned it (500+ miles each way) and it got 15mpg cruising at 75-80 mph! It is sold as-is, where-is. I will assist with shipping as far as helping you or the shipper jump start the car and get it loaded. That's it. I'm sorry, but I don't have time for anything else. $500 deposit due by PayPal within 3 days. Full payment within 7 days via cashiers check, wire transfer, or cash in person. I will send signed title by certified mail or hand over in person once payment in full is made. Once the reserve price is met, the Buy-It-Now option will disappear. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will do my best to provide you with any additional photos or information, but please be patient, I have a 4 year old, a pregnant woman and I work 60+ hours a week.
