Vehicle Detail
This is a very original, 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT with the rare freewheeling package that is heavily optioned for 1979. Has all of the original paint and stripes on it that has been clearcoated to preserve the originality. The roof has very little paint left with nice patina. It runs and drives great with new 33" Falken AT tires with less than 1000 miles on them and new u-joints in both driveshafts. Survived a hailstorm some years back in Fort Worth that left the majority of the dents in it and one of the top side glasses cracked. The Bronco spent the majority of its life in Texas before coming to Louisiana so it is very rust free with the exception of the quarter panels (drivers side primarily). I removed and replaced the carpet and there is no rust on the tub, cab, tailgate, or doors. Everything works as it should including the cruise control. The previous owner installed a new billet HEI distributor in the 400 engine which runs great. New aluminum radiator was just installed last week. Other than that the Bronco has been left very original and intact down to the Ford lockout hubs that still work. That being said there are a few areas that are beginning to show their age like the door panels but everything is there with the exception of the center console and radio at the moment. I have had many '78 and '79 Broncos and pickups over the years and this one is easily the biggest head turner of any I have owned or seen despite its almost 40 years of bumps and bruises and definitely one of the best drivers. It has a small exhaust leak (donut gasket I think) that I will try to replace before it leaves and one of the calipers sticks a little from time to time but I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere.
