This Forester is the up level S model which adds a chrome grille, alloy wheels, bigger tires, rear disc brakes, and an in-dash 6-disc CD changer. In addition, this Forester is equipped with a roof rack, rear defogger, tachometer, power windows, tilt steering, rear wiper/washer, antilock brakes, power door locks and cruise control. The 2.5-liter engine is horizontally opposed, better known as boxer engine producing 165 horsepower attached to a 4 speed automatic transmission. This Subaru has been without a doubt well maintained. The exterior is very clean, with a few minor scuffs on the front and rear bumper as expected from a 2001 model. The interior looks great, cloth seats show no signs of wear and tear. Truly nice to sit inside. After driving this Subaru you can easily tell it is an enjoyable vehicle, no issues whatsoever. It enjoys a low center of gravity and car based foundation, and it is known to handle better than its competitors: Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Nissan Xterra, and Chevrolet tracker.
