Vehicle Detail
2006 Subaru WRX STI - Clean Car - Salvaged Title I purchased this vehicle about 5 years ago to add to my collection of toys. I have been liquidating all of my toys the past few weeks so this is the next to go. When I purchased it in 2011, it had approx. 34,000 miles on it and it currently has 38,555 miles so I'm put on less than 5000 miles total. In fact in the past 3 - 4 years, I've not driven it much at all! I purchased this car with a "Salvaged Title" from a gentleman that kept it very clean and it didn't mind saving some money. I paid $22K for it back then and was happy with the price. The car was complete and was in better shape than most used cars on the market. I was told the car was a "salvaged title" because it was stolen and vandalized in the interior of the car. The carfax says "Rebuilt" but the title I have in my possession says "Salvaged". I'm not sure on the differences so please research before purchase. The car originally came with a Perrin Rotated GT3076R turbo upgrade along with a custom APS front mount intercooler system. Shortly after taking possession, I re-tuned the car and put it on E85 to make sure the engine is nice and happy. I also did the TGV deletes on the lower intake manifold module. The car performs flawlessly on E85 and it runs perfectly strong. I have tried a few different combinations on the car, including a $3000 Exedy triple clutch system and found it to be too aggressive and noisy. I recently went to a very nice Stage IV Competition clutch and lightweight flywheel combo and found it to be very drive-able and "stock-like" while having the ability to hold a lot of power. I love this clutch system. Recently, when I decided to convert the car back to stock in order to make it EMISSIONS LEGAL and to make it more bearable for myself or the next owner to SMOG (emissions test) the car every two years. Well, I've gotten as far as collecting a lot of the parts and I began to put the car back to stock, but I've run out of time. Here is how far I've gotten: - The car now runs the stock turbo with the stock catted downpipe - The car is still tuned on E85 with speed density so there is an AIRBOX in place but there is no MAF sensor there. - The car still has the TGV deletes which causes a check engine light - Please note: THE CAR RUNS and drives FLAWLESSLY! - It's just not 100% back to stock. If you choose not to convert this car back to 100% stock, you do not need to repair ANYTHING! It drives perfect! In fact, with the stock turbo and stock downpipe back on the car with the stock TMIC (Top Mounted InterCooler), it's never driven better! Less peak power than the GT3076R, but it's very nice! I guess I'm getting old so I'm happy with quicker boost response than laggy peaky power! I would like this car to go out of state so you can just enjoy the car and not have to do anything else. I might consider a sale to someone in California but only if you are capable of finishing the job of taking it back to 100% and make it SMOG legal. I have an aftermarket air inlet hose on the car (because I initially couldn't find the stock one). You want to re-install the stock air inlet hose and rerun all the vacuum hoses so that it's factory clean. If you want to put the car back to GAS and reflashed to the stock tune, you'll have to buy a new MAF sensor for $25 to put into the airbox because I cannot locate mine. If you don't want to retune it to GAS and leave it on E85 and SD (speed/density), then just leave it alone. The car also has an "airbag" light that is lit in the dash (see my picture). I've never had this checked out but all the airbag and related parts appear to be present as you can see in the interior shots. Nothing looks out of place. So, other mods on this beautiful car: - Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood - Large Carbon Fiber Scoop - Carbon Fiber Front Grille - Carbon Fiber Rear difuser - Carbon fiber side door trims - HKS catback exhaust - Full LCD aftermarket stereo system - Greddy boost gauge - Tein adjustable coilover suspension - Enkei wheels with almost NEW Bridgestone tires (unfortunately the black spray paint on the wheel is starting to fade and review stock silver color) - Extra Enkei wheel with good tire in the trunk as a spare - Again the Competition Clutch stage IV with their lightwight flywheel in there recently - almost new - Mishimoto large radiator Please Note: The Perrin Rotated turbo kit originally on the car has been discarded along with the APS FMIC, all traded for stock parts for the car. I no longer have these parts. I do have a bunch of other extra parts like an extra airbox, SPT strut tie bar, SPT lower brace, extra fuel rail with injectors. These little things will go with the car. I just need to clear out the car and parts to give up my space. Please send me any questions. The Auction will have a cheap starting price and no reserve. It's a deal of a lifetime to own one of the coolest cars on the road and you can start enjoying...now! Thank you!
