Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I am putting my 3x Locked Expo Built 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser up for sale. It was built for expedition style trips, and that is how it has been used. It is a Southern California rig, and I have done trips with it to the local deserts and mountains, to the Sierra’s, Death Valley, Mojave Road, Sedona, Baja California (Mexico), and a lot of places in between. It has been a very reliable vehicle and also served as my daily driver for many years. And it has been exactly that. It is a great rig and is a lot of fun to drive both on and off road. It is actually over-built for most of my trips, but there have been a couple instances where the armor was helpful. I have always preferred exploration to hardcore wheeling, but its definitely built to handle what you throw at it. The truck has been very reliable with the usual maintenance kept up on (fluids, belts, brakes, bearing repacks, etc). The seals in the truck do need to be addressed though. It has not affected performance or reliability, so I have not addressed them. I have a new radiator (Koyo) and thermostat (Toyota) in, but I do not know the history on the water pump. I also do not know the history on the head gasket, but I watch the temps closely on the Scangauge and I have never seen any coolant in the oil, and the truck runs smooth as it should. The PHH was replaced by the PO. I just had part of the EGR replaced last month when I passed CA Emissions, but there is a smell of an exhaust leak, but that could be due to oil on the manifold from the seals. Typical on this model, it will occasionally throw a P0402 code, but it does not affect performance and can be cleared with the ScanGauge. The Brake indicator lamp also stays on in the dash as if the e-brake is engaged, but I have not troubleshot that yet since everything seems to be working. The lockers all work, but sometimes the rear is slow to engage. On the exterior, the rear right fender flare was popped off on a trip in Death Valley (came down off the slider in the perfect spot to pop it off) and I have not yet replaced. The RTT and awning were recovered from an accident on a previous rig, but I refurbished and have gotten at least 3 dozen nights out of it since then. They aren’t in new condition by any means, but they also still work just fine in my opinion. The rig is very well built and capable, and is ready to go. It isn’t a show truck, but instead it’s a fully capable rig built with the purpose to be an Expedition style rig ready to go. There are a couple little things that could be fixed up, but this a very capable truck that is built to go explore and I have done a lot with it. Located in North San Diego
