1971 Honda CL

Very Clean and Well Maintained Honda model CL175 K5 built in 1971. The original side covers are completely intact with no broken tabs and no cracks and no repairs and both emblems are still there. Very hard to find these in Excellent Condition. I have owned this Honda since June of 2016 and I am a Honda Mechanic. I have put many new parts and lots of Labor into this Beautiful Vintage Honda. I put about 1,000 miles on her this Summer. Many new parts including: New Tires, New Battery, New Fuel Petcock, New Front Brake Switch, New Ignition Points, and New NGK Spark Plugs. A tune up and an Oil Change was just done yesterday. I re-set the point gap and set the timing. The engine is running better than ever! It starts up immediately, idles perfectly, and runs at 55 mph all day long. Great gas mileage and the twin cylinder engine is very quick. It is perfect for Zipping around town or cruising the Highway. No oil leaks at all. This bike has 13,400 original miles. The transmission shifts fine but occasionally it does not always shift from 2nd gear into 3rd gear on the first attempt. I believe it has a weak gear shift return spring. I just wanted any potential buyer to know about this. Other than that Everything on the bike works! All lights except the speedometer light work. I replaced the bulb on the speedo and it will light but when it is plugged into the speedometer it does not light. Probably a ground problem. The electric starter and the kick starter both work fine. The bike has a very good Maintenance Free Battery that is new and so the Honda starts right up. The gas tank is in Exceptional Condition and I believe it is a N.O.S. gas tank that sat on a Honda Dealer's shelf for many years before it ended up on this bike. It has a few paint chips I believe from being on a shelf and a minor scratch on the left side of the tank. (can be seen in one picture) It is spotless and can not have been on this bike for very long. I did put a new fuel petcock on the gas tank but the pictures on this ad were taken in June and the new parts had not been put on yet when the pictures were taken. I have my asking price very low for this very nice Survivor because I have to try and sell it here to get my next project. It needs to sell fast or I will keep the Honda for myself.
