Vehicle Detail

Note: For some reason, the car fact check says WAY more owners then this car has actually had. If you check the report, it's only 2 other owners besides myself. Not sure why it shows 13! That's not true. Up for sale is a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Turbo). This car was actually purchased through eBay in 2014, and I've been working on restoring it myself, though have run out of time and funds to do so. The car is in decent condition as-is. I've fully re-painted the car myself from it's initial look, I've installed a stereo system / DVD player and AMP system and re-wired the electrical, as-well as the engine bay, to accommodate the added electronics (they are stored in the trunk area, and the wires are tucked around the car and out near the firewall to the battery). The rear wiper motor was also busted when purchased, so I bought a new motor for it and it does function when screwed in (currently have it unplugged however). The car has 4 brand new tires, which have only been driven on for 18 miles total. The car also has 4 brand new rims for the tires, as you can see in the photos. The go along with the new tires and rims, the car also has a brand new tail-light setup installed (as pictured). Car also will come with the pretty new seat covers installed, as well as floor mats. I also hooked up LED lighting on the interior of the car, but may remove that prior to pick-up (may or may not work correctly). The car also has a brand new cool air in-take, as seen in the pictures, along with a brand new AGM battery. The new parts added on to this car alone are worth about $2,000 - $2,500 or so alone. However, the car does have some issues, and I want to make it clear that it's not 100% perfect! Despite all of the work put in to the car cosmetically and re-wiring and fixing issues, the car makes a rattling noise while it is running and the clutch is not pressed in. The car also can stall out when trying to shift from gear to gear. The problem AS FAR AS I KNOW, and have been told by a few mechanics now, is that the reason this happens is due to a throw-out bearing or a bearing of a different type in the engine bay needing to be replaced. This repair would cost roughly $600 or more, and that might not be the only issue. It's possible it's also an issue with the clutch itself, which would cost more to repair / replace, however everyone I've had look at it thinks it's the bearing itself and likely not the clutch. I cannot guarantee that though, as I'm not a mechanic! The trunk itself also is missing the right side lift to it, so it needs to be held up if using the trunk (the suspension lift that was originally there was broken, so I just removed it completely). This car has been sitting around for awhile, due to not being able to fix it due to lack of funds after repairing it cosmetically and electronically. The brakes and everything else seem to be fine, the oil and everything else has been checked / changed, antifreeze replaced, and anything / everything I could think of or do. The dirt in the pictures will obviously wash away (and I'll give it a good wash before pick-up / delivery), but I want to make sure it's shown as-is, since the car is being sold AS-IS! There is also a slight issue with the gas door that I know of, where it sometimes gets stuck and needs to be forced open (it's not too hard to pull open, though). The SRS light comes on in the car too when started on occasion, however that's only due to the LED wiring being spliced with another wire from the electrical re-wiring. The title is clean, and the car has 136,918 miles on it. When the car was registered, it was registered with only 136,900 miles, so as stated, it hasn't really been used too much and does work, but it has definite issues that need to be fixed / remedied. I'd only look in to buying this if you want to further continue restoration of the car from what I could, or if you want a cheap car to learn manual on (though as stated, you'll still have to spend some money on some type of repair regardless). Since the car stalls when shifting on occasion, and likely needs the battery jumped, charged, or boosted, I would not recommend trying to pick it up and drive it home. It's not safe to do so with the stalling issue. Having it towed or freight shipped by flat-bed would be the best possible way. The title will be signed over for the new owner to register it, buyer pays additional on their end for pick-up / delivery of this vehicle. If you need any more information, pictures, or anything else, please message me! Thanks!
