Vehicle Detail

The Honda CB550 was a 544 cc (33.2 cu in) four-cylinder standard motorcycle made from 1974 to 1978 and was replaced in 1979 by the Honda CB650. This sale is for a 1974 Honda CB550E. Very difficult to find the E style listed anywhere. All the parts are original as far as I can verify. The bike was stored in a barn for the last 10 years. I removed the bike from storage last year, cleaned the mice nests out of the air cleaner filter, rebuilt all four carburetors, replaced all fluids and the throttle cables and it started right up. VIN# CB550 - 1200593. Engine# CB550 E – 1066266. Manufactured 6/74. The "K" and "F" versions were sold alongside each other, sharing the same engine, tank, instruments, lights, wheels, brakes and frame. The "F" featured a lighter 4-into-I exhaust/silencer kit, fewer chrome trimmings, different side panels and slightly flatter handlebars — as part of the Honda Super Sport range which included the CB400F, CB550F and CB750F. The "F" (aka "F1") was succeeded by the "F2", which had an additional flash emblem on the fuel tank with deletion of the fork gaiters. It’s very difficult to find any information about the “E” model. Starts on first try with the kick start. Bike does need a complete tune-up but does run fine and all brakes and lights work. All four carburetors rebuilt after removal from barn. Throttle cables have been replaced. Needs complete tune-up. You can see and hear a current YouTube Video of this bike by going to the following link: https://youtu.be/jV86HGPciFM Most of the chrome shows light pitting/Rust. Small dent in front fender and gas tank, and several paint chips in gas tank. Seat has one fairly large rip (See photos). Clutch works great. All brakes work. No tool kit or title included, but I will provide a Notary Bill of Sale if required. Please look carefully at all pictures before asking questions. This bike is sold as is. Payment must be made within 5 days of close of auction. Shipping is the buyers responsibility.
