For sale 1961 VW Volkswagon convertible partially restored and painted many years ago. Top and headliner are still in good shape, has german carpet, upholstery is in good shape but dated and not original style, paint has some scratches and bad areas from stuff falling on it. Car has Porsche 356 brake system installed in the 1970s including large steel lined aluminum brake drums (1 drum is 356A, the rest 356C as I remember) vacuum plates, huge shoes, double cylinder in back, split slaves up front, just the brake system alone is worth big $$$. Car has no engine in it anymore but I bought a used 40HP engine on craigslist (have not run it but the owner said it smoked a little) with plans to make it all original and replace fresh air system with stale air boxes which I bought on ebay and are included. Tires are fairly new maybe 4 years old with no miles on them 4-ply bias tires (not radials for millenials), blackwalls. All window frames were rechromed with new rubber installed but it is old now. I have many parts which I will include such as several old Blaupunkt radios for the VW, original Wolfsburg emblems, other stuff as I find them. I don't have time to finish car and want to find someone who knows what it is worth and will finish it. Don't ask for specific parts, I will not part out, these all add to the package. Update: The steering column, hood latch, and turn signal control were chromed years ago but the turn signal does not turn off after turn, the return mechanism needs to be repaired.
