Vehicle Detail

Listed for sale is a gorgeous example of a 1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III. This is the definitive “iconic” image of elegance and style that comes to mind when people think of a Rolls Royce! Finished in “Artic White” with dove grey rich leather seating and door panels, the interior of this car is magnificent. The carpets and headliner are like new, the polished burled walnut dashboard window trim, door sills, and of course the infamous RR picnic trays in the rear are stunning! Window glass both front and rear is also excellent. Side windows, both front and rear as well as rear window have been tinted dark for privacy and for keeping the interior cool on warm sunny days. This car has air condition which blows cold and strong (3 speeds), and all instruments on the dash are clear and working except for the clock. The odometer was stopped on 8905 when I purchased this car in 2005, and I never cared to have if fixed as it was unimportant to me then, and still is now. The speedometer however works fine. Equipped with power windows that go up and down at the proper speed (not sluggish), (but at this time right front & right rear windows have stopped working) and upgraded stereo/CD unit, which is mounted in front of the driver in the open glove box area, with professionally installed inside rear window antenna. Fitted with upgraded white wall tires, smooth riding quality steel belted radials for comfort and safety. and aftermarket hubcaps with RR insignia, as the original hubcaps were stolen quite a while ago, while stored in an under ground parking garage for a month when I went to Europe. They look great and only a true RR purist would have any objection to these. Engine is the original RR aluminum V-8, which runs strong, but does have one cylinder with low compression. This car drives strong and smooth all day at freeway speeds, and also on surface streets. Only time the one low compression cylinder is noticed is when climbing a steep incline, and I just drop it in 3rd gear and all is well! I have driven this car in this condition for 10 years and never felt the need to spend the money or time on a complete valve job. Even my own personal mechanic suggested it was not necessary to do this. Upgraded alternator for easy starts, and extra large electric auxiliary fan added behind the Rolls Royce grill to keep the engine cool in summer driving with electric lighted switch located under the dash that can be manually turned on or off without the engine running to cool down the engine after shutting the engine down. Transmission shifts smoothly at the right speeds as is expected. Trunk compartment does not have carpeting as it was rather torn and ratty looking when I purchased the car, and again, was not something that I felt needed to be replaced. Original jack is there, no other tools, and spare tire. All chrome on bumpers, grill rear license plate frame, mirrors, window trim, and rear trunk light assembly is excellent…bright and shiny. pin striping runs the length of the hood, and down the sides. All light glass, front and rear, clear and perfect. Minor blemishes here and there on the body, nothing obvious ( except as indicated in description above) and surely expected in a car that is a 53-year-old daily driver…not a pristine trailer queen shown at weekend events. If you are looking to own a classic iconic piece of automotive history that will have EVERYONE looking at you giving you the “thumbs up” and admiring this magnificent example of “rolling art”, that can be driven daily as is right off the trailer that delivers her to your door, then this is your opportunity waiting for you to grab hold of. For less than the cost of a new Lexus or any number of other everyday look alike luxury automobiles, you can own something that eclipses their elegance, stature, and makes your driving experience magical and unique! This car is being sold as is, no warranty expressed or otherwise, and at NO RESERVE! I will entertain any reasonable offers. Happy Bidding! Upon completion of auction, the lucky new owner must send a $2000.00 non-refundable good faith deposit by direct checking money transfer, within 24 hours of the winning bid. No personal checks, credit cards, or bank checks will be accepted. The remaining funds must be transferred in the same manner within 72 hours of the deposit payment. Shipping and all transportation costs to be arranged and paid for by the winning bidder, although I will be happy to assist with those details if requested. You have the opportunity to purchase a beautiful 1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III at a very low cost that will allow you to do what ever repairs you wish to tackle without breaking the bank! At the end of the day, you will own a car that is worth more than double than what you will wind up buying this car for. Very recent oil change, new oil filter, two new front whitewall radial tires and a general inspection done by a reputable Rolls Royce mechanic, attesting to the fact that all was well with this car. Next item to mention, so there is no confusion. This car has a salvage title. It had a small electrical fire under the hood, a few years ago. My insurance company’s adjuster knowing very little about classic Rolls Royces, said he was unsure what it would take to repair the car with original parts, and labor costs being what they are. He recommended that the car be totaled to limit the exposure of the insurance company getting into costly repairs. They make this decision when they feel that the repairs are more than 40% of the insured value. I said fine, bought the car back from the insurance company which was my right to do, had all repairs done professionally, replacing all damaged wiring, installed new wire harness, assorted hoses, whatever was required to the tune of $6000.00 and all was fine once again! The car was inspected by the CA DMV and passed inspection with flying colors.
