Vehicle Detail
This is a 1964 Cadillac DeVille Convertible...the last year of the iconic fins. 1964 saw the introduction of the 429ci engine and the Turbo Hydromatic Transmission. According to the production plate, this Caddy rolled off the assembly line in Detroit on the third week of November 1962. This Caddy runs and drives but needs TLC. It's been stored indoors since I purchased it in 2008. Even though it's not restored it gets honks and thumbs ups like crazy. People love seeing it drive down the road with the top down. Odometer shows 41,000 miles (not able to determine actual miles). A repaint has made it slightly darker, but its original color is the absolutely beautiful Firemist Aquamarine. It also has a special-order aquamarine interior. You just don't see any 64 DeVilles around in this color combination and it will be stunning if you choose to restore this piece of American luxury. I've owned this Caddy in Florida, but I have moved up north and can no longer keep it. It's currently stored in Poughkeepsie, NY while it awaits its new owner. The car had bodywork done at some point in its life and up close you will see bubbling and rust on some of the sheetmetal like around the lower fender behind the front wheel and around the wheel skirts. The car was repainted some time ago and the paint is faded and peeling in some spots. The inner rocker panels are rusted and at least two of the floor pans need to be replaced as well as some of the body mounts and braces. A section of the trunk pan was poorly repaired at some point. The perforated interior leather has tears on the drivers seat. The passenger side and rear seat leather is in good condition. The carpet it faded. The driver's side door pull is missing but I have it and will include with the car. The dash pad and steering wheel are in very good condition with no cracks or fading. The chrome has some pitting, but I would say it's in acceptable condition considering the car's age.The carburetor appears to be original and would benefit from a rebuild. Please see pictures as they show the exterior, interior, engine compartment, and chassis. Mechanical Items that are not working/need attention: Radio & antenna & clock Rear-left electric windowThe power seat motor works but the tracks have dried grease in them and the seat doesn't move smoothlyThe rear plastic window needs to be replaced I may cancel the auction at any time as I have the vehicle for sale locally.
