Beetle lovers: This car was my wife's for 13 years, including her college years. It was bought from a dealer in 2003 with 675 miles despite having a Lemon Law Buyback. It turned out to be a great decision, considering that it never gave her any trouble until now. She has taken excellent care of it and this reflects on both the interior and exterior condition with expected wear and tear. Mileage is very low for its age, only 74.5K miles. Periodic oil changes were made. Currently has new tires x 4 with only 10K miles (lifetime non repairable road hazard tire fail repairment with Town Fair Tire) and new brakes. It had the right rear door and fender replaced a few years ago after it was struck by another car while parked at a garage. Current problems: 1. Needs new alternator. 2. Started overheating in February this year. Water pump, timing belt and thermostat were replaced but the head gasket is blown and needs to be replaced as well. This repair is estimated at $1K to 1.5K. This car would be an excellent choice for someone with mechanical experience willing to repair it at low cost to sell it for a better price or otherwise enjoy it for many more years. Indiana buyers preferable since do not recommend driving it as is.On May-31-16 at 13:26:33 PDT, seller added the following information: *** UPDATE 5/31/16 *** 3. Windshield has developed a crack after the car was listed, I believe from being out in the sun. Please refer to new pictures uploaded. I can provide documentation of all repairs done in the past. Since some potential buyers have asked: the car does ~ 26 miles/gallon. We would like to reinforce that the potential owner will assume all responsibility for repairs and damages once the vehicle is sold.
