Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my '04 Shadow. I bought this bike 3 years ago with a fraction of it's current miles, a mere 2,500 or so miles were on it at that point as it was an older owner that just kept it shined up in the garage. This was my first motorcycle, I learned a lot on it. With a seat height of a mere 25.9 and relatively light weight, it makes a great learning bike as most people can flat-foot the ground with ease. Great for shorter people as well! The 750cc V-twin is slow enough to keep you out of trouble but has enough grunt to keep you interested. The reason for sale is I "graduated" up from this to a sport bike, and I don't ride this anymore. It has been meticulously maintained! Every winter it gets a full tank of fresh stabilized fuel, the carb ran dry, fresh oils and filter (Mobil-1 full synthetic 10w-40 in the motor and mobil-1 full synthetic 75w-90 in the final drive) and plugged into a battery tender. Only caught in the rain once with it! What you see is what you get. Here's all the facts Good:K&N drop in air filter to replace OEMVance & Hines exhaust (Loud!). Original exhaust included upon request.Carb has been re-jet due to the above Never broke down or fumbled. Always starts first try, it runs like it's fuel injected! The tune on the carb is absolutely perfect. Doesn't leak, doesn't smoke.Comes with the Leatherlyke saddle bags (lockable) which are worth over $400 and the switchblade windshield. Both items pop on and off super easy depending what kind of ride you are doing.Timing has been advanced 4 degrees. The bike has more low end grunt. It is recommended to stick with 91 or 93 octane fuel.Has a throttle lockComes with original manualHas a ball mount on handlebars for cell phone or GPS Has two genuine fox creek leather bags, one under radiator and one on the left-front of frame (vertical). There is a cigarette lighter plug underneath the vertical bag with a cut-out into the bag so you can charge things in the bag or run it up to the handlebars.Battery is 13 months oldMisc: Dropped once at low speed. The photos show all the damage. Minor scrapes on windsheild, scrapes on left passenger footpeg, and an almost invisible dent on the tank. You have to look for it to see it, it actually took me a year to notice it. The photo shows it very well. The left front blinker had to be replaced, the left mirror, and two chrome engine covers. All replacements were OEM Honda parts. It seems like a Honda thing since my 1975 CB750 does it as well, but if you light-foot the shifts you may find a false neutral in between 4th and 5th gears. This has always been like that and it has never gotten better or worse.Little crack in the one saddle "bag". Shown in photo. Never been an issue, never got worse. Just in the interest of full disclosure I am including that photo.I do believe that is everything I know about the bike but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask me. The bike is available for inspection in Port Murray, NJ nights & weekends or in Plainfield, NJ during the week if the weather is nice and if we plan ahead. Test rides only with cash in hand (my hands!). The bike is sold as-is, and I hope to see it go to another new rider to continue to promote the hobby. Payment due within 7 days of auction end, otherwise I will relist. If you want to put a deposit down that is OK. Happy bidding!
