The 535is is the nicest of the BMW e28 (80's 5-series) model, except the M5, but the M5 is more of a hassle to maintain, and who needs that? I've really enjoyed it, and it hasn't needed much work. I did replace the tires, starter and water pump. The driver door has its own key, the right passenger door only opens from the outside, and the rear differential hums like I'm told they often do. I now bike to work, so I mostly use it for driving my kids to school. If you're in the SF bay area, come take it for a spin!
