This beautiful Dove Blue Single Cab was manufactured on August 22nd. and left the factory on August 26th. 1959. It was shipped to the port in New Orleans in October of 1959. I do have the Birth Certificate from The VW Museum. It was sold to a military veteran in Henderson Nevada and that's where it lived until March 16th. 2015. It was then sold to a fellow in Florida and then I purchased it and had it transported to my summer home here in Maine. Overall condition is excellent and it is totally rust-free and has every indication of being a car from Arizona. The repaint of the original "Dove Blue" paint was dome approximately 20 years ago and the paint shines like to it was repainted last year. The undercarriage is spotless and free of any corrosion and ugly undercoating. The engine is a 1500cc motor that was produced in September 1965. The motor & transmission were rebuilt several years ago by a shop in Arizona. I had an "engine out" service performed last September and it had a valve adjustment, new brakes, new clutch, new heater boxes, new wheel cylinders, new axle boots, transmission service, new throttle cable and an oil & filter change. I also purchased (5) new Vanco 195/70/15 radial tires and had the wheels sandblasted and professionally repainted the proper color combination. The speedometer was also shipped to California and rebuilt by Orange Empire Speedometer. The windshield was also replaced and a new German gasket installed. The front brake drums all the front wheel cylinders were replaced yesterday. I also have the original owner's manual that is in "mint" condition and some original sales literature.
