For sale is a 1979 Plymouth Volare 2door 318ci V8 Automatic. This car is in great vintage condition and still has the original paint. This car has never been in any accidents and all body panels and hardware are original. Extremely straight body! Vehicle is 99% rust free, minor surface rust has accumulated under rear right window, please see pictures. Original vinyl roof has been removed, there is absolutely no rust aside from previously mentioned area.Contact spray cement will need to be cleaned off and trim mounting studs ground down prior to paint. Orignal 318ci V8 engine has been previously completely rebuilt and upgraded with performance cam and springs. Original "Lean Burn" ignition system has been removed and upgraded. Carburetor was changed to an Edelbrock 1407 4BBL and distributor changed to a billet aluminum MSD type vacuum advance. Has brand new spark plugs and wires and chrome valve covers. All smog items(air pump, egr, evap syst) have been removed and deleted. Vehicle still has factory catalytic converter installed. Engine runs excellent, starts first turn every time. Has lots of power and sound great. Has a flowmaster exhaust muffler installed. Factory air conditioning compressor has been removed as well as condenser. All other parts still remain. There are absolutely no oil leaks! and all undercarriage parts are clean and free of rust or sludge. Vintage AmericanRacing 14" chrome wheels are in excellent condition. Tires are staggered 195/70/14 front and 245/60/14 rear. Tires have 100% tread, but are 10 years old. They hold air and drive with no issues. Interior is all original aside from the black Grant GT steering wheel. Bench seat is complete but needs upholstery as does rear seat. Vent fan works on all speeds, as well as heater. All lights work as do all the gauges, fuel gauge marks correctly. Original analog radio works, but has trouble catching current radio signal. Driver side window glass has been replaced at one time, but a 4dr window was installed and doesn't completely seal. Vehicle has been stored indoors since 2011. I acquired this vehicle back in 2011 with the intention of fully restoring it for my son to drive. Over the years, I have upgraded many components of the car in the partial restoration process. In the recent months, my son's interest have changed and he now wants a more modern car as opposed to classic american muscle...kids these days... With very minimal work, this classic can be a head turner. Please view the last picture, this is what I envisioned for this car. I have two big crates of all the original parts that were removed, which include lean burn system, steering wheel, carburetor, and all miscellaneous items. I have all paper work on the car, as well as the original owners manual and literature. Car has a clean California title and has aways been stored and driving here.
