Vehicle Detail
2004 Ford Explorer Limited. 4.6L V8, 4x4. 262,303 miles This Explorer was bought new at the dealership by my dad. He drove it for 4 years and I've since owned it for 8 1/2. It has a known history and a clear title. It has never been in an accident, never been flooded or underwater, and though it's cost a bit more over the years, it's always been serviced by reputable mechanics. This vehicle has never been smoked in and has an immaculate and fully loaded interior. It has all the features you expect from a limited edition like heated leather seats, 6 disk in dash CD, steering wheel controls, power sunroof, and chrome premium wheels, and a pearlescent paint job reserved by Ford for only their limited edition vehicles. Also has features many new cars don't have including things like power adjusting brake and gas pedals, auto-tint rear view and heated side view mirrors, interior and exterior thermometer with digital dual climate control. Vehicle also has a custom fabricated and installed skid plate (see picture). Prior to the serpentine belt issue (see mechanical condition below) this vehicle was running and driving GREAT! Still has tons of power. Everything works (radio, heat, AC, power everything, etc.). I live on a road that requires me to put the car into and out of 4x4 high twice a day every day and it seamlessly transition into and out of 4 wheel drive. Physical Condition: Please see all picturesThe driver's seat leather is torn - see pictures. All other seats look immaculate. The back seats have been sat in less than 3,000 miles total. I mostly kept them folded down and used the storage space.Driver's side door handle is a little sticky to open. I don't have any trouble with it, but other people do. Just needs the handle cable adjusted. The right side of the vehicle has very minor rust appearing, primarily on/near back passenger door. It is minor and with the right products might be easily mitigated or eliminated. Please see pictures. The driver side wheels are in very good condition. The passenger side show some minor rust flecking into the chrome. Please see pictures.Minor damage to low part of front bumper (black part). Please see pictures.Paint scrapes and chipping on front bumper and hood. Please see pictures.Currently on Bridgestone Blizzak tires. About 9-10,000 miles on the tires. They are the #1 rated snow tires for SUVs. I also have my summer tires available, they are Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. Depending on your pick up arrangements and if you want to pay to have the tires changed out locally, I will happily help you to get switched over and to take the Explorer with the Nitto tires and leave me the Blizzaks. Or you can pay and have both sets of tires. Or take the Blizzaks! Whatever you prefer I'm happy to help you buy the Explorer with either tire you prefer. Just contact me for arrangements if that's something your interested in. Tire change will be at buyer expense. I can send you pictures of the Nitto tires if you're interested. MECHANICS:I am not a mechanic nor mechanically inclined. What I will tell you of the vehicles condition is to the best of my knowledge. This Explorer is sold "as is" with no warranties or guarantees. It is possible when you examine it in person that it will be in mechanically better condition than I'm conveying. It's also possible it won't be.Why it's not running and for sale: Serpentine belt's tensioner failed, cut a hole in the front of the engine/timing cover. (I've included a picture pointing to the hole, and also a picture of the parts taken out of the vehicle)Exhaust hole causing it to run loudlyTire pressure monitoring system - I've had the monitoring valves removed. Sensors put up a warning indicator when starting vehicle. Indicator can be turned off and that's it. No other lights or warning come on and none stay on.Was due and scheduled for an oil change and transmission fluid change. These will still need to be performed. Recent Noteworthy Mechanical History: (displayed with mileage the service was performed at)262,303: Serpentine belt came off while driving on highway.
