Vehicle Detail
I am selling my beautiful 69 Chevelle SS. This is a true "L" code car that was purchased by the previous owner in his senior year in high school. The car was originally brown from the factory, but as you can see from the photos - the car was professionally painted with all door seams, trunk lid and underside of the hood have all been painted as well. It would be hard to tell this from the factory paint. The finish is done in Monaco Orange with a brand new vinyl top. In the past six months, we've put a new front bumper on the car, installed brand new carpet, new headliner, new passenger deck tray and wings, new trunk deck trim, new battery and more. The engine is from a mid 70's truck. It's a 454 that has been bored to a 468. The motor has only 1200 miles on it. It is equipped with forged pistons, Edelbrock manifold, headers, MSD electronic ignition and brand new electric cooling fan with thermostat control. The transmission came from the factory as an automatic, but it has been converted to a manual 4-speed tunnel shift. The car is equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes and an aluminum high capacity radiator. The heater works great, but no air conditioning. The rear end is a 12-bolt with chrome cover. The exhaust pipes are axle dump and do not protrude under the back bumper like stock. It is with deep regret that we must sell this car before we had the ability to completely finish the project. We are selling to pay off medical bills. We have set this up as a no reserve auction. Issues that need to be completed: The car needs to have the weatherstripping replaced as it is dry and worn. The windshield wiper motor does not work. As you can see in the pictures, the two back fenders/quarters have small dents in them. This was going to be our project this summer, but we can no longer accomplish that goal. The price we are starting at will leave a great deal of meat on the bone for a true SS in this condition. A small amount of body work and a couple hundred dollars in parts and this one is ready for the show. How does the car drive? Like my dad said after driving it today...."this thing hauls like a striped-ass ape!" Not sure of the horsepower, but I would guess over 400HP. Trans works and shifts beautifully and it drives down the road at 65 MPH with no shudders, pull or issues. It truly is a gem. All glass is in great shape. Interior is very good, with the normal dash cracks and the rear seat has two tears in the base/bottom. Three manuals will also be included.
