Vehicle Detail
Exterior/Mods: This 1969 Chevelle was a custom frame-off restoration about 10 years ago.email me with any concerns or questions jason.loves.zombies@gmail.com The car itself was acquired as a rolling body and chassis from AZ. The body was pulled off the frame, and all body mounts/bushings were replaced. Over the next 5 years, the car underwent countless man hours into extensive restoration and custom sheet metal work. The car was built professionally by Rick O’dell (of O’dell Kustoms and Fabrication, in Santa Clarita, CA) and myself as a post-high school project car. It was initially built as a performance daily driver, and has been garaged ever since completion, with the exception of weekend cruises and car shows. The odometer has only clocked a very low 9,700 miles the past 5 years since completion, which is the exact mileage. (Both motor and car mileage are synonymous) The car boasts a Chevy small block 400 (basically a reverse stroker motor), mounted to a 700-R4 overdrive transmission (to be able to cruise on the freeway for road trips), along with a GM factory 12 bolt rearend (with custom Ford 9” ends/axles)along with 3.73 gears with an aftermarket posi. I can personally say that every single inch of this car has been touched and re-conditioned. Every single bolt, nut, washer, etc. has either been replaced with new OEM, or received some sort of re-conditioning. The overall stance and aesthetics have been described as influenced by street rod attention to details, with the American classic muscle car feel. The following is an extensive list of custom sheet metal work, all including but not limited to: *All the body lines have been cleaned up by removing and shaving any and all unnecessary trim pieces *Smoothed/shaved all side marker lights, turn signals, and emblems *Factory door handles and locks were replaced, but left for functionality and asthetics *Complete hand-fabricated all steel center dash (not just a cluster), complete with all aftermarket Autometer gauges (Completely fully functional gauges). (Note: Original 69 chevelle dashpad has been removed, and all holes have been filled and smoothed *Complete hand-fabricated ALL-STEEL cowl induction hood. (Fully functional, and original factory hood was used as a donor, and a complete re-designed under hood fabricated frame to strengthen rigidity and functionality *Body lines for center of hood were re-worked to match body lines on the front valance *Engine firewall has been smoothed, and painted the color of the body *Body has had all portions of the quarter panels removed and grafted in with brand new metal *Professionally mini-tubbed inner rear fenders, with a “factory feel” look. Car can easily accept a 31” tall slick under the rear quarter panels, while still maintaining a lowered aggressive stance. (Original fabrication was designed to run a size 305, or 315 size tire out back, on a 20 inch rim…which it can currently fit with the correct offset wheel) *The front and rear bumpers have had their bumper brackets/bolts shaved, and studs have been relocated to the inside to provide a smooth aesthetically “clean” look *All remaining chrome trim/headlight bezels/bumpers have all been professionally re-chromed and re-polished before re-installed on the car *The front grille is a SS grille, to compliment the body lines Wheels: *It’s current configuration is a set of Weld 15” wheels, with 15 x 10” rear wheels out back, mounted with brand new P295/50R15 tires. (Please see above description on fabrication section for ideal wheel fitments) *15 x 4” up front, with P195 R15 tires Engine/Exhaust: *It’s a Chevy 400cid small block…bored .020 over (roughly 425hp/425ft lbs. torque) *Aftermarket Dart Iron Eagle Cylinder Heads (Heads have been ported/polished/matched) Additionally, correct steam holes have been drilled and matched to gaskets for the small block 400 *Edelbrock RPM Intake Manifold *Demon 750cfm carb. *Custom ground aftermarket camshaft, (closely resembling the profile of a CompCams 292 camshaft) *Engine completely professionally assembled with all ARP studs/hardware, and tolerances/specs with performance reliability in mind *Additionally, Engine Block has been completely de-burred of factory rough external casting seams, eliminating the potential of cracks in the block itself. *S and S performance headers, full-length and jet-hot coated for durability and aesthetics *Complete 3 inch exhaust, all mandrel bend, with crossover pipe, out back to SPINTECH performance mufflers Transmission: *Professionally built 700-R4 overdrive transmission *B+M Pro Ratchet Shifter Rearend/Suspension: *Factory chevy 12 bolt housing, with custom Ford 9” ends (eliminating the factory c-clips, and allowing axles to bolt in/out, and essentially handling any horsepower you throw at it) *3.73 gear ratio with aftermarket Posi traction *Drag studs have been installed on all four corners *Hotchkis performance lowering springs (approx. 2” drop) *All suspension components have been replaced with aftermarket polyurethane bushings, and aftermarket hardware. *Aftermarket boxed Rear Control arms Paint: *The paint is VIPER GTS BLUE… (Which has a gorgeous subtle metallic flake in the sunlight) *The stripes have been done in GM BRIGHT WHITE, in the traditional CHEVY Super Sport stlye. Note: The paint does have minor imperfections and small chips in rear quarter panels, but to be expected on a 10 year old paint job. However, As I mentioned earlier it has been a weekend cruiser but a garage queen, which still gives this car a glorious luster. *Engine firewall has been painted the same color as the car *Inner fenderwells and Radiator core support has been powdercoated grey *Interior Center Dash and Dash Cluster has been painted VIPER GTS PEARL GREY (Again, has a gorgeous subtle metallic flake in sunlight) Electrical and/or Interior: *All original electrical wiring was removed, and the car has an aftermarket custom tailored and designed wiring harness. *Aftermarket wiring harness fuse panel has been mounted in the factory interior location. *MSD ignition box, with MSD HEI Distributor. *All wiring in engine compartment has been hidden for aesthetics, MSD box located in inner fenderwell. *Alternator is original aftermarket GM replacement (for reliability) *Battery is located in the trunk with custom brackets, and a battery cut off switch. (Brand new Optima RedTop battery just purchased) *Additionally, A Ford solenoid/relay is installed in between the battery and main electrical wiring, to provide an added level of electrical protection. (This keeps the run of heavy battery cable from always being “hot”.) *All electrical works and is operational: Dome light, Windshield wipers, headlights, brights, gauges, etc. *Rear tail lights are factory bezels, with aftermarket bright LED lights *Car has Dynamat installed on the entire interior floorpan of the car (Extra new Dynamat comes with vehicle purchase) *New factory black carpet installed 1 year ago *Headunit is a Sony, with 2 Sony "Xplode" 6x9 speakers installed in the factory rear package tray *Interior Glass and door regulators are all operational and installed, however, they need minor adjustment before getting the finalized interior door panel treatment. *All weatherstripping has been replaced with new rubber. ***I have over $35k in receipts on hand for parts and shop work, not including receipts I’ve lost over the years, and the overall time invested in this project. I just dropped in a brand new Optima Red-Top battery, so you’ll also have that reliability with a 3 year warranty through Autozone. ***All in all, this has been my pride and joy for the past 10 years…. 5 years to build, 5 years to enjoy. However, I do not have the time to finish the car, and with priorities in my life changing, the car is ready for it’s new owner to be truly enjoyed and reveled. This car is an attention getter, a head turner, and a reliable performance custom muscle car. All this car needs is the finishing touches on interior, and bolt on a set of aftermarket 20’s with a 305 tire out back, to give it that instant Pro-Touring aggressive stance. You could easily buy a set of OEM reproduction door panels, and complete the interior in a weekend. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a really nice daily driver, or a solid show contender, or possibly just a weekend cruiser that you can add your personal touches to, then this is exactly the car you need! With such extensive time, effort, custom metal fabrication, engine and drivetrain. On Mar-08-16 at 19:05:29 PST, seller added the following information: ***UPDATED***I have posted a few links below to a few short clips, so you can hear this thing!
