This truly fabulous Caddy is definitely NOT the right car for you if you want to keep a low profile! Heavily optioned, mechanically and cosmetically solid, ready to cruise and enjoy -- on the Freeway of Love, or anyplace else! And best of all a solid, RUST-FREE CALIFORNIA CAR. With its white, heat-deflecting upholstery and light outside paint scheme, this car will keep you cool as a cucumber in hot, sunny weather. In the evening, drop all the windows for a cruise to the drive-in – Voila! You’ve got the ideal machine for summer cruising! GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND SPECIAL FEATURES Outside there’s fresh paint, inside a new cotton candy and vanilla ice cream interior. It’s a Sedan de Ville -- already a step up from the Series 62, with finer interior trim and power features in addition to the standard dual Hydra-Matic (upgraded version): power brakes, power steering, back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows, and two-way power seats. But this example also boasts the following options: • Power door locks • Power trunk opening and locking • Wonderbar® signal-seeking radio • Factory Cruise Control • Factory air conditioning. MECHANICAL CONDITION The 390 cu. inch Cadillac V8 starts up quickly and has plenty of pep. The car runs and stops as it should, steers and tracks nicely. I do not detect any cooling system problems. The carburetor was recently partially rebuilt. The brake lights and turn signals and lights work as they should, and the horn works too (but is a bit weak). The transmission needs to warm up a bit after not having been driven awhile, but operates perfectly thereafter. Three of the four windows go up and down more or less as they should; one back window needs help to go up, and both rear windows (which travel a curved, somewhat awkward path) should perhaps be removed and reconditioned in order to work as they’re supposed to. The radio and the Cruise Control do not work. The factory air conditioning engages and blows cold air, though it may need a recharge soon COSMETIC CONDITION Exterior. The body is rust-free and virtually dent-free as well. The fresh bright pink paint job is fairly new, and while the glass and outside mouldings and weatherseals were not removed before the car was repainted, and a few stone chips have had amateur repairs, none of this detracts from the overall quality of the paint, which is very nice. The exterior chrome is in fair to good condition. The glass is original and shows normal wear and, in the case of the window glass, some yellowing at the edges. Interior. The interior chrome and stainless are in fair-to-good condition, with the usual pits in chromed parts to be expected after fifty-seven years. The interior seat upholstery in ice-cream-white vinyl, with pink piping and buttons, as well as the matching door panels and headlining, are practically brand new and have no tears or major stains. The pink carpeting shows some wear here and there but is otherwise in very good condition, and included are four matching floor mats with sewn emblems in front. New Weatherseals. Many if not all of the weather seals have just been replaced, including the J‑seals, the hardtop opening seals, the center window seals, and the trunk seal. As a result, the doors and trunk lid close solidly and tightly. New side cardboard has been installed in the trunk, but the mat has not been replaced. (Unlike for coupes and convertibles, trunk mats for sedans are not available off-the-shelf but must be custom made.) This is a Western car that originally had black plates, and as you would expect, there are no rust holes in any of the floors, doors, or fenders. Tires. The tires, featuring wide whitewalls, are in good condition and have many miles left. CONDITIONS OF SALE The car is sold AS IS. Interested persons may inspect the car in person by appointment. The car is located in eastern California, approximately forty-five minutes from Reno, Nevada. A ten-percent non-refundable deposit must be paid via PayPal within 48 hours of the closing of the auction, otherwise the car will be offered as a Second Chance to the next highest bidder. The balance in full is due by PayPal, certified funds, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE CAR AND DECIDE IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE IT; IT IS AN AUCTION TO PURCHASE THE CAR. DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED, AND FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION WILL RESULT IN NOTICE TO EBAY.
