Vehicle Detail

A few months ago a stumbled across a 1957 chevy bel air in some old chicken coops! Well the owner told me his grandfather bought it new for his grandmother witch she used it until he souped it up back in the day! Around 25years ago he jacked it up and put it on blocks in the coop! I aired up the tires and jacked it up, pulled the blocks out, and the car rolled right out and onto the trailer, covered with dirt i trailered this poor girl home.On the hour trip home all i heard were horns blowing and thumbs up out the windows lol! Well I brought it to my garage cleaned off all the acorns and mice nests from the engine.Next i checked the motor was free so i put a battery in it some marvels in the motor poured gas in the carb and she started right up! I then tried to run it off the gas tank but realized it was to dirty, so i bought a brand new gas tank, straps, and sending unit, installed that along with a new oem fuel pump i found in the original box up in the loft along with some other parts. Next i flushed the coolant system put on a new upper and lower radiator hoses and some fresh coolant! So we now know it runs i have not yet tried to drive it because i was waiting for some free time to check out the brakes? They have fluid so no leaks i just wanted to pull the drums and inspect them before i try and move her. Now for the body lower doors are rotted lower front fenders will need patches quarters will need patches infront of the tires, the wheel well lips have no rust neither does the lower rear of the quarters. Trunk looks perfect no rot!It actually had the original trunk mat but it broke up when i removed it to look at the floor. The frame looks great no rot! The floors on the car are not horrible but due have some old patches .I believe the car was repainted in 1968 so any of the rust repair was from around then! The color is not original it was actually a lighter shade of green, the seats look good but i believe they may be factory covers over the original? The carpet is shot and faded. The car has the original radio. Some of the aftermarket mods are the super rare and cool, mickey tompson rader wheels with the old white wall tires, some old school gauges and tack under the dash, pool ball for a shifter knob and aluminum corvette valve covers! This car screams old school hot rod! I would leave it rusty and crusty and make it a daily driver! Now is the drive trane original? I never checked any number on the car tell me what numbers you want and i will try and get them for you. The motor says corvette on the valve covers but im guessing someone just changed them cause i did find orange chevy ones in the loft? Trans? The car also has a rare visor! Remember anything that was done to this car was done in the 50s or 60s so its hard to tell whats original!I do have a clean title, last time titled was 1968! This car is being sold as an old project car needs restoration! No warranty! Please feel free to come inspect the car prior to bidding. I will help load on trailer or carrier buyer responsible for shipping! Please help her get back on the road again! I will post pics soon!
