1964 chevelle malibu one owner barn find! Heres the story a few years ago my wife and I where looking to buy an investment property so we found one locally with a large garage, I decided we could rent the house out and I could use the garage for storage.When we went to inspect the house and property I found this car in the garage!Original owners had passed away years prior and there son who was in his 70s lived in another state.Well after timely negotiations I was able to purchase the car,the son had given me all original papers even original title,also explained everything about the car from the day they bought it.The car has the original license plates that came on the car in 1964 and will come on the car when you buy it. Even has the original key chain license plate tags from 1964,the car was purchased new without air and then was brought back to the dealership months later to have air put in it. The air conditioning actually still blows ice cold! The motor is a 283 and the trans is a 2 speed powerglide, I have been driving this car for a few years now and the trans recently started acting up so i just had the original trans rebuilt. Full rebuilt transmision new torque converter and new flywheel,The motor runs flawless but smokes when it sits and u first start it seems to go away the more you drive it! My mechanic told me it was most likely valve seals and they should be replaced cause the new gas does not have lead in it.The motor still has the 2 barrel carb, intake ,and single exhaust,no performance upgrades here. I will be including with the car, used newer heads and a 4 barrel intake, I wanted to upgrade carb and exhaust but decided maybe someone would rather have it untouched!The odemeter says 30k but i believe it to be 130,000 due to the age of the car,The car starts without touching the gas pedal and idols great probably as good as 1964! I do not know of any motor work or parts that where installed this is how I found it! The car has most of the original paint, 1 of the quarter panels was painted back in the 60s,I looked inside of trunk to see if it was dented but there is no visual damage and its still factory finish on the inside,maybe it was just scratched? The lower quarters where starting to rust so i popped out the loose rust and sprayed a rust stopper on them, i will include a lower quarter section i bought for this car.There is no rust around the wheel wells just the lower quarter! 1 of the lower front fenders is starting to rust, other then that solid rockers floors doors! I removed the carpet from the car due to the old car smell and found perfect untouched floors! I thought the floors were so nice i decided not to put a carpet in it.I found a color that was close and just painted the floors for protection!The trunk area is nice too but did have surface rust on them i did put paint on the trunk floor to stop the rust but I did not go crazy sanding off the rust just gave it a good cleaning prior to the paint. There are also some holes starting on the trunk floor but nothing to crazy.The paint on the car has cool looking patina in spots, doors hood and trunk open and close with one hand as they did in 1964!The breaks on the car are the same ones that came with it when i bought it i had removed the drums when i bought the car and cleaned and oiled them, a few months ago i was driving the car and one of the breaks felt that it was sticking once in a while. You may or may not need new wheel cylinders or breaks,i would recomend this cause you can never be to safe! The lights and wipers work and even the am radio still plays the oldies!There is also an 8 track player that was in the trunk when i purchased it so that will come with the car. The car came with the original rims with bias ply tires but when i drove it they thumped all over due to the flatspots, so i upgraded the wheels to some ralleys and the tires with a wider old school look! The frame on the car is super clean and solid as the bottom of the car was factory undercoated! I have tried to keep this car as original as when i purchased it i have even left the jesus statue and the change in the holder on the dash board. I will include all the paper work that i received when i purchased this vehicle.
