We obtained this vehicle from an elderly gentleman whose age and health issues forced him to relinquish his drivers license. We had planned a full body restoration of this sedan and use it to pull a cargo trailer for our business but are selling our home. Unfortunately the Caprice and several other projects didn't make the cut. This 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic was Motor Trend Car Of The Year and won numerous other awards. This vehicle has so many positives. It has less than 46K on the 5.0L V8 engine and is super strong and smooth. The car is very clean. The engine, engine bay, trunk, and interior are very nice. An aftermarket stereo was installed but other than that it is all original with all options available for this vehicle. The body is super solid with the original paint. The clear coat finish has faded in the usual areas on the bumpers, hood, and trunk. The original paint has scratches and blemishes and there is some rust with the most prominent area behind the left rear tire on the rear bottom quarter panel. The original owner needed the assistance of the drivers side door panel to exit the cabin and reinforced the panel. We planned to replace this for aesthetics even though it functions perfectly and is fastened securely. Our mechanic did a thorough inspection of this vehicle prior to and after the purchase. He flushed and filled fluids from coolant system, braking system, transmission, and rear differential. An alternator, battery, belts, hoses, rear axle seals, brakes, rear drums and ABS sensors were replaced and the rear differential was serviced and new axle plate cover and gasket were installed. The all season tires are excellent have 75-80 percent of their tread remaining. The original spare tire and aluminum rim are in the trunk. The only negative with this vehicle is I believe there is a draw on the current through a loose or exposed wire, or bad fuse that slowly drains the battery. My mechanic said it was because it wasn't being run enough to charge the system but I'm not sure. My mechanic will not do electrical and I am not capable of diagnosis so I am leaving this issue to the next owner. This car is in the kind of condition to justify a complete restoration that would not cost much money, or is nice enough to drive as it is. This car has a clean title and can be driven anywhere.
