They are all special and unique in their own way. That previous statement perfectly leads to this Very Special and Unique Lincoln being offered at auction for you this week. Attention Collectors!!! We attended a very special benefits auction at our nearby and amazing Pierce Arrow Museum in which there were many equally amazing cars offered but in my opinion none with the stately presence of this Lincoln.Obviously we purchased it, brought it home to Rochester and started the process of getting it road ready since it hasn't seen much use over the last many years.We were told and it is believed that this Lincoln has only just over 10,000 miles hence it was a personal car driven only associated with royal duties and parades.It may have even traveled throughout Europe as one of the palace's choices for the Royal Family when on official business or casually visiting abroad.I use the term 'may have' because truthfully I don't know... We have tried contacting the Belgian Palace via phone, letters, even emails looking for something as binding proof of ownership or association other than the display card predominently displayed with at the museum prior to us purchasing it.Heck! I would have settled for a bumper sticker or something of less significance as long as there was a response. Anyways,,, The Monarchy association is the 'Icing on the cake'. Let's not forget that this is an incredible piece of artwork on its own. The 1958 Lincoln Mark III Continental Convertible is as admirable to look at as is to drive it. There were many styling cues that scream "I have arrived and I am important". These behemoths of the Upper Class of the late 50's were the must have of vehicles. The front slanted headlights atop that very predominant bumper with brassers, all well accompanied with a jeweled grille, bumper extensions, and hood ornament.The rear of this car is Gorgeous!The outward small jeweled fins upper and lower with the upper one having the Lincoln Crest Embossed within the marker lens...; It screams "Class!"That rear panel when cleaned and polished will make you put on your shades for sure... Lots of Shine! Wow! Can never get too much of that! Those coves on the front fenders are so unique to the special design of this year Lincolns as is a few other convenience and styling items.The brow atop the individual tail lights, the rear bumper style, the chrome rocker molding, the wheel covers, and the list goes on and on...A lot to admire and spend time doing so. There are a few sites where I have personally spent hours researching the Great '58 Mark III. One thing they all have in common is everyone agrees how special this year and car is as part of our Automotive History. It is a full power retractable soft top with the factory speedster side spears that simply clip on to conceal the top frame on the sides when the top is retracted. Another nice styling touch added by Lincoln to an already great car. There are also Rear Quarter Skirts for that well dressed and cuffed look. Even though the Lincoln is a Soft-Top Convertible, it does have a Rear Power Breezeway Window. It works as it should going up and down as you wish with a simple switch on the dash. Equipped with a Town-and-Country Radio that scans automatically and works as it should is also amazing. All the windows are power and they work as intended as do all the lights inside and out.For a 57 year old this young fellow has a strong driveline obviously due to its limited unabused tour of duty. The Body is in absolutely incredible condition! From the undercarriage, trunk floor, bottom of doors, fenders, and quarters; Incredible is the operative word describing the condition.Paint is beautiful with lots of shine.Interior looks great as well and seats look as if it had been recovered at some point.Sunvisors are missing, not sure why but it could be a positive clue as to its heritage being a parade type vehicle with less obstruction on photo ops of the royals. This is a great car! Regardless of its heritage, it is still a high demand and highly collectable Lincoln that is in exceptional shape throughout.There are only a few items that are quirky as we noticed; The fuel gauge does not read accurately, the top pump motor struggles and needs a bit of your manual help to raise it, the seat controls are finicky and takes a few tries. Again, as I mentioned,,, nothing of major concern and can be rectified fairly easily. We take pride in our cars and the rarity of these special rare ones.We love this Lincoln and I'm sure you will too! Let's start off by stating what a Privilege is to deal with such interesting and meaningful vehicles everyday as a profession.
I dare not say 'job' or even 'career' because it would down-play how much is involved in understanding and familiarizing yourself with so many different and incredible vehicles day by day. They are all special and unique in their own way.
That previous statement perfectly leads to this Very Special and Unique Lincoln being offered at auction for you this week.
Attention Collectors!!!
We attended a very special benefits auction at our nearby and amazing Pierce Arrow Museum in which there were many equally amazing cars offered but in my opinion none with the stately presence of this Lincoln.
Obviously we purchased it, brought it home to Rochester and started the process of getting it road ready since it hasn't seen much use over the last many years.
We were told and it is believed that this Lincoln has only just over 10,000 miles hence it was a personal car driven only associated with royal duties and parades.
It may have even traveled throughout Europe as one of the palace's choices for the Royal Family when on official business or casually visiting abroad.
I use the term 'may have' because truthfully I don't know... We have tried contacting the Belgian Palace via phone, letters, even emails looking for something as binding proof of ownership or association other than the display card predominently displayed with at the museum prior to us purchasing it.
Heck! I would have settled for a bumper sticker or something of less significance as long as there was a response.
Anyways,,, The Monarchy association is the 'Icing on the cake'. Let's not forget that this is an incredible piece of artwork on its own.
The 1958 Lincoln Mark III Continental Convertible is as admirable to look at as is to drive it.
There were many styling cues that scream "I have arrived and I am important". These behemoths of the Upper Class of the late 50's were the must have of vehicles.
The front slanted headlights atop that very predominant bumper with brassers, all well accompanied with a jeweled grille, bumper extensions, and hood ornament.
The rear of this car is Gorgeous!
The outward small jeweled fins upper and lower with the upper one having the Lincoln Crest Embossed within the marker lens...; It screams "Class!"
That rear panel when cleaned and polished will make you put on your shades for sure... Lots of Shine!
Wow! Can never get too much of that!
Those coves on the front fenders are so unique to the special design of this year Lincolns as is a few other convenience and styling items.
The brow atop the individual tail lights, the rear bumper style, the chrome rocker molding, the wheel covers, and the list goes on and on...
A lot to admire and spend time doing so.
There are a few sites where I have personally spent hours researching the Great '58 Mark III. One thing they all have in common is everyone agrees how special this year and car is as part of our Automotive History.
It is a full power retractable soft top with the factory speedster side spears that simply clip on to conceal the top frame on the sides when the top is retracted. Another nice styling touch added by Lincoln to an already great car.
There are also Rear Quarter Skirts for that well dressed and cuffed look.
Even though the Lincoln is a Soft-Top Convertible, it does have a Rear Power Breezeway Window. It works as it should going up and down as you wish with a simple switch on the dash.
Equipped with a Town-and-Country Radio that scans automatically and works as it should is also amazing.
All the windows are power and they work as intended as do all the lights inside and out.
For a 57 year old this young fellow has a strong driveline obviously due to its limited unabused tour of duty.
The Body is in absolutely incredible condition! From the undercarriage, trunk floor, bottom of doors, fenders, and quarters; Incredible is the operative word describing the condition.
Paint is beautiful with lots of shine.
Interior looks great as well and seats look as if it had been recovered at some point.
Sunvisors are missing, not sure why but it could be a positive clue as to its heritage being a parade type vehicle with less obstruction on photo ops of the royals.
This is a great car!
Regardless of its heritage, it is still a high demand and highly collectable Lincoln that is in exceptional shape throughout.
There are only a few items that are quirky as we noticed; The fuel gauge does not read accurately, the top pump motor struggles and needs a bit of your manual help to raise it, the seat controls are finicky and takes a few tries. Again, as I mentioned,,, nothing of major concern and can be rectified fairly easily.
We take pride in our cars and the rarity of these special rare ones.
We love this Lincoln and I'm sure you will too!
