1980 Volvo 262c bertone Coupe w/Pontiac (Chevrolet) 305CI TBI V8/700r4 trans conversion Car was converted using a 305CI small block GM Chevy TBI (Throttle Body Injected) computer controlled fuel injected engine. It has run well for the last 15+ years and it still does. It idles smoothly at 500rpm. Engine has a one quart external oil filter and has always had Mobil1 oil in oil pan. The drive train was installed using conversion parts purchased from JTR (Jags That Run). The JTR conversion manual is included along with lots of other conversion documentation. All emissions equipment is working, and the car uses the Volvo key to start. Factory GM AC is installed (R134) and worked well for years. The AC is not working now, certainly needs new hoses and a recharge, never messed with it after it stopped working a few years ago . Heat works great. Engine and transmission do not leak oil. Has a Corvette radiator, Ford SHO 2 speed electric cooling fan and a transmission cooler. No knocking, pings or the like, from the engine. The motor is powerful and pulls this car strongly under acceleration. Their is a very slight leak from the power steering pump case- "very minimal needs top off / refilling about every 5 months." Car has a recent 700r4 Automatic Transmission installed that was pro built for drag racing. Transmission was designed and built for racing, shifts hard with no slippage. The original 14 inch wheels were updated with Volvo 15 inch 5 spoke wheels during the conversion. Car has recently installed rear springs. This Volvo bertone Coupe 262 is a daily driver, driven in summer and winter for the last 15 years, after the conversion was done. Over the years the car has been driven almost every day, and as you can see by the pictures there is a lot of rust, mainly surface rust. There is surface rust over entire underside of 35 year old vehicle. I have seen two small areas of heavy rust under floorboards, not sure if rusted all the way through or not but floor seems solid from inside car. Car is unibody construction and has surface rust over most of underside. Car has no structural issues that I am aware of. Undercarriage is in good shape, small areas of rust in floorpans, but the rust is relatively what is pictured. Car could use "restoration/body work" or can be just driven the way it is. Car will run 70 mph all day on highway, been doing it for years. Car was not built or ever used as a hot rod, more a hobby car and highway cruiser. The original spare tire, spare tire cover, jack, and jack tools are in the trunk, along with the battery and the windshield washer fluid reservoir. A 5th extra full size spare tire that has the same 15 inch alloy wheel that the car comes with is included, so you get five matching rims "the 4 alloy wheels that are on the car, and an extra alloy wheel for the full size spare tire."The car has a clear title and car odometer now reads 149,393 miles, but that is not the original odometer so actual mileage is unknown. Car is also being placed for sale locally, so the miles will go up but not by much. Stereo tape player and all speakers work. Aftermarket fog lights work but one is missing the glass. Mostly everything works, but here is what doesn't: The high beams do no work, have not worked for many years and the AC has not worked for years.The radio antenna does not retract. The antenna motor works but the plastic pull cable is at fault. Again been that way for years. Car needs body work/rust repair, but also can be a daily driver as-is. Car has the normal wear and tear from use, of a car 35 years old. Any questions please ask.
