They were called the Spirit of America and were optional on the Vega, Nova, and the Impala. Today these models are very collectible and Holt Auto Sales has the pleasure of offering a Spirit Of America, very low mileage (12,124 actual), 1974 Nova Custom Hatchback. It was available only in white with a half black vinyl top, red, white and blue stripes that are on the hood, front and rear fenders. The interior has red carpeting, white door panels and special emblems on the steering wheel as well as the door panels. This Nova has all original paint and is in excellent condition as well as the original chrome bumpers, bright work and the entire interior. In 1994 GM produced 390,537 Novas of which only 14,463 were equipped with the Spirit Of America option which was a $399.00 option.Our offering is equipped with the following: power steering, power brakes, automatic three speed transmission, Factory AM radio with an updated Kenwood AM/FM stereo radio with CD concealed in the glove box with remote, and dual outside rear view mirrors with the drivers side inside controlled. Included with this Nova is the factory build sheet, original owners manual, warranty information and documentation showing this Nova originated from rust free South Dakota.Currently this Nova has Crager chromed wheels with B F Goodrich Radial T/A's with raised white letters but the original tires and wheels that were part of the Spirit Of America option will be included with the sale. The original numbers matching engine has been upgraded with Holley equipment consisting of aluminum heads, aluminum intake manifold, four barrel carburetor and there is a March aluminum serpentine pulley system that has been installed.
