**** NO RESERVE AUCTION **** HIGHEST BIDDER TAKES IT HOME!! **** This 1988 Honda RC31 Hawk NT650 is in excellent original condition with only 9,800 miles on the clock. This first production year bike (#629) is an excellent example of Honda’s first naked street race bike that dominated its pro racing class for 3 years. The 1988 model had a wet weight of 412 lb (187 kg). The 650 cc engine had an output of 58 hp (43 kW) @ 5000 rpm. The Honda Hawk GT NT650 motorcycle was designated as model RC31 and was designed by Toshiaki Kishi. The Japanese model was also named the Bros. This liquid cooled V-Twin bike has quite a cult following due to it’s Honda Pro-Arm single sided swing arm, responsive power and handling on the corners.The original owner rode the bike occasionally until 1996 and stopped riding. The fuel system was drained and the bike was stored covered in the garage until Jan 2015. The original paint and optional matching Targa fairing still look like new. The chrome and aluminum components shine well. When I received the bike the tank had some rust from condensation inside and required cleaning and an epoxy liner. The fuel pump and line was replaced. The carburetors were fine but required cleaning and replacing the rubber components. It starts right up, runs strong, shifts like a clock through all the gears, idles smoothly and is very reliable. Everything works properly on the bike and it is ready to ride. The electric starter, headlights, horn, turn signals, taillights, brakes, clutch work properly. The bike rides great and is fun to ride, light and easy handling, throttle response is crisp and the torque is impressive. The battery is new and it has no leaks.
