Vehicle Detail
This is a fun car. I have owned it for four years and have never had an issue with it starting or driving. The back brakes are new summer 2014.. I only drive it in the summer and keep it garaged at night. I store it in a heated garage from October to April every year. I start it once every two weeks during storage so i am also including a new second battery. The previous owner told me he bought it from a woman in Texas and she had it painted but i don't know. He also told me the seats were original which i don't know either but there is cool orange piping on them and an embedded CJ logo in the head rest. He had the stereo installed which is a CD player and the face plate removes for security. I have never even tried the 4 wheel feature given it is a summer driver so i can not say if it does or does not work. The top works fine and seals, snaps and zips where it should. If you know these cars you know it is a real pain to put the top on and off...takes me about 10 minutes so i take it down in the summer and only drive it if the weather is clear. I put it all back on for storage. In addition to the soft top, there is a bikini top that is attached and that is included as well. I also bought an emergency cover that i never used but i will include it in the sale. the doors are to pieces and can be simply lifted off the hinges in 1 second. i changed the oil once when i bought it in 2012 and then again in 2014 but i have only added about 4000 total miles in my ownership. The car always starts on the second try unless it is warm, and then it starts right away. When the car is cold for about the first 10 minutes of driving you do need to feather the throttle to keep it from stalling...i use my left foot to brake and shift so you need to be an experienced stick driver to drive this jeep...or a tune up might solve the cold start. I love this car. i get so many compliments because it is old school jeep, but i live in Chicago and there are just so few days i can drive it and the cost to insure and store is kind of dumb. there are two sets of keys. the center console works but does not lock. the gas cap locks and i have the keys for that.
