Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice RX7 that's had all the right upgrades and maintenance done to it to be reliable. (I've owned 8 of em so I can say this from experience) I am only selling it because I went way over-budget on this project and I need to pay for school. My loss is your gain as they say. Driveability is a 9 out of 10. The motor was rebuilt about a year ago when the car was being repainted by a very knowledgable rotary engine builder. This RX7 runs terrific, never had any driveability or reliability issues with this engine. Starts every time, doesn't smoke, doesn't leak fluids, makes good power! The only nitpicky things is the idle is a tad high (but right on the money when the AC is on full blast). I converted this car from an automatic to a manual with turbo parts which is not easy or cheap by any means. But I did the job right so the top goes up and down when its supposed too and the reverse lights come on when they're supposed too. The heavy duty turbo transmission is solidly braced at the proper angles with the driveshaft with a custom welded bracket. Exterior wise its a 9 out of 10 that could easily become show-car material with a little more work. It was repainted in the original 'Blaze Red' color about a year ago by a professional, but the original bumpers were not replaced so there are very minor imperfections under the paint in those areas. The car has no accident damage, nor has it ever been raced. There is only one major dent on the bottom of the drivers door from an idiot not closing the door when they raised the car lift. There is no damage to the undercarriage or other issues with the door so I am confident its a straightforward fix for a bodyshop. There are small dings, chips and scratches from daily driving use but nothing touch up paint won't fix. The interior is also 9 out of 10. It was customized with red-leather inserts on the door panels and seats. It really makes this car 'pop', when the top is down compared to the oem black interior. The interior is also largely flawless, no bubbling or cracking of the dash. Just a few cracks on the interior plastics and the steering column surround behind the steering wheel hub that always breaks when you install an aftermarket steering wheel. No tears or burns in the carpeting. No rips or tears in the seats or doorpanels, or even the convertible top. Glass window defroster still works. All the power functions work, except the cruise control and the high beams. I am told the fix for the high beam issue is the Body CPU behind the driverside kick panel beneath the dash. It is less than $100 to replace. The Cruise Control I am not sure about. The light cluster in the middle of the dash with the clock is also not working. Engine- All stock S5 13B 6 Port EFI Engine- Rebuilt with new seals- Only ran on Idemitsu Full Synthetic Rotary Engine Oil and Wix XP Filters since it was rebuilt- HUGE 3 Row Ron Davis Racing Aluminum Radiator. (I have aftermarket e-fan to install that's why its missing the fan-shroud.) Radiator works terrific. Car doesn't overheat even with AC on blast even in the middle of summer) Powertrain- Turbo Transmission w/ Redline Transmission Fluid and new seals- Turbo Driveshaft- Turbo Differential w/ Limited Slip & Redline Gear Oil- Turbo Axles- Mazdatrix Short Shifter Kit- Racing Beat Lightweight Turbo Flywheel with replaceable friction plate- ACT Turbo Pressure Plate- 6 Puck Full-Metallic Sprung Clutch- Brand New Turbo Clutch Hydraulics- Stainless Braided Clutch Line All the powertrain components have been upgraded to Turbo-Spec units on this RX7. They are overkill on a non-turbo car but that's the point! I don't need to worry about snapping axles or breaking driveshaft U-Joints with this setup. It is bulletproof, go ahead and put slicks on it and drag race. Turbo parts don't care. That being said, the transmissions in these cars aren't known for being quiet or particularly smooth. They are a bit noisy, but still reliable. This transmission and clutch setup is primarily designed for racing. I have never raced this car I just daily drive it but the racing parts take a little getting used to. The clutch bites hard and squeaks and chatters on initial engagement at low speeds. This is normal for a full-metallic clutch and a heavy-duty pressure plate. The shifter is likewise a racing part, very short throw but feels notchier and takes a little more effort to push into gear. It also tends to rattle and vibrate a bit at light throttle cruising speeds. This is normal for this type of shifter. If you don't like it you can swap in an OEM shifter its very easy. Exhaust- Racing Beat Turbo Stainless Catback- Racing Stainless Steel Headers- Racing Pre-Silencer with 02 Sensor. The exhaust system on this RX7 is for racing purposes only and is not smog legal. You will have to reinstall an original exhaust system to smog this car! I really enjoy the exhaust tone of this exhaust system. It is not obnoxious, it won't get you pulled over for noise violations but still sounds great at wide-open-throttle. Plus it is practically indestructible heavy-duty stainless steel, specially designed to cope with the high flow and extreme temperatures of the rotary engine exhaust. This exhaust will last the life of the car. Exterior - Aluminum Turbo Hood w/ functional Hoodscoop Interior- Momo Steering Wheel & Hub (With working Horn! Plastic Surround behind the hub is missing, it broke removing the factory airbag.) - Leather seats and door panels with Custom Red Leather Inserts.- CD Player w/ Aux Output and Remote- Aftermarket Speakers- All Power Options Function fine (Windows, Door Locks, Convertible Top, Mirrors etc.)- The Light Cluster/Clock in the dash is not working.- Broadway Rearview Mirror (A godsend when the top is down)- AC Works! Suspension- KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks- Racing Beat Lowering Springs - Alignment just done. Brakes- Stainless Braided Brake Lines- Drilled Rear Brake Rotors- No brake pulls or pulses or vibrations. - E brake works. Wheels & Tires- OEM BBS Forged Wheels (10.1 Lbs Each)- Toyo Proxes RA-1 Competition Tires sized 225/45r15 (Still usable but should be replaced. I recommend going with a 50 series sidewall instead of the 45 for better ground clearance with the lowered suspension)- Aftermarket Lugnuts Any other questions please ask! On Nov-06-15 at 02:02:37 PST, seller added the following information: Also, I should mention I installed a brand new pilot bearing and throw-out bearing in with the clutch. That black panel in front of the radiator is made by Corksport and helps channel air through the radiator for optimum cooling.
