My father bought this car in 1988 from the 1st owner and took care of this car. He passed away five years ago and he was the only person who really knew this car. I'm not a car guru, I can only explain in basic details. It run and steers. As it stands now, it should not be driven very far as it needs new tires and brakes. It sat in a garage for 20 years and was driven from time to time. It is an automatic stick shift (no clutch). The interior seats are all original and are in good condition. The original top has 3 small cracks. The plastic base of the antenna broke off, but I have the antenna so it just needs a new base and it will screw back in easily. I also have VW floor mats that I would also include. There are some tears in the carpet flooring. The trunk sometimes sticks. There is a rusted hole in the drivers side as I pointed out in the photo. In 2010, my dad paid around $3,000 to a mechanic for a new complete brake system, muffler system and tune up. Odometer shows 91,518. My brother and nephew put a new battery in it and replaced the fuel pump and it started right up. It needs some TLC and would make a great cruiser.
