Vehicle Detail
2001 Toyota MR2 Roundabout Spyder EXCEPTIONAL The MR2 Spyder has a most interesting history. These are amazing automobiles. The MR2 Spyder was designed and built for “First, true driver enjoyment, blending good movement, low inertia, and light weight. Then, a long wheelbase to receive high stability and fresh new styling, a mid-engine to create excellent handling and steering without the weight of an upfront engine. The car moves very quickly coming in at 0-60 in 6- 7 seconds.” HOW DOES IT DRIVE? This Spyder handles well at any speed. There is no shake, shimmy or pull of any kind. It has had excellent care, well maintained and is clean. I drove it every day and it has been completely trouble free. The mid-engine offers superior handling, precise steering, plenty of power and finger touch shifting. It goes through the gears quickly and effortlessly. It is a true sports car in every way. Yet there is plenty of cabin room and is very comfortable. The visibility is good with no blind spots. It holds its own under all conditions. It is quiet and tight with the top buttoned up, surprisingly so that you would not guess you were in a convertible. It rides like a sedan, yet is a sports car. In today's economy here is a big reason to own this car. You can expect 26-30 MPG around town and 32-35 MPG on the highway. The car puts out 138 HP and 125 LB-ft of torque. The car is most enjoyable and offers an inspired driving experience. The wind blocker adds to the car's looks and reduces wind noise by a significant amount. The camel top itself is in very good condition. The fit is very good. EASY TO HANDLE TOP Convertibles and especially personal roadsters are popular the world over. They paint pictures of success, freedom and a carefree desire to be forever young. Owning one offers all of the above. The main reason is the difficulty of putting the top up and down. The 'push one button' and watch the top fold and disappear sounds wonderful until it's time for repair. Manual tops can be troublesome too. They do not fit properly, and often it takes two people to open and close along with a lot of effort. This top has a glass window with defogger. It takes just seconds to release the locks, fold and lock in place. On any given day or night, this top is ready to drop and enjoy. EXCEPTIONAL This is a beautiful, exceptionally clean car The exterior is bright and shiny. The factory Electric Green Mica finish with black accents and camel leather interior is the absolute perfect color combination. There is no rust or rough areas and never has been. Any flaws are few and far between. The wheels are in very good condition and are original to the car. The interior is clean. All of the gauges work. The drivers seat back and passenger seat bottom are not perfect. The rest is nice, real nice. There is plenty of room behind the seats for two overnight bags and room for one more up front. THE NAME SAYS IT ALL If you have never driven one of these cars you are in for a real treat. A mid-engine, rear wheel drive, two-seat sports car. The word spider has been used as an alternative word for a convertible sports car. Ferrari and Fiat have used the name in the past and Toyota wanted to tap into the high pedigree of sporty vehicles. As the saying goes, the name says it all. With the engine mounted directly behind the driver and a low curb weight, the MR2 Spyder is a success for many enthusiasts as a fun-to-drive drop top. Yes, a lot of people mistake it for a Porsche and that's fine. However, why not have all the fun at a fraction of the cost? I have included 103 pictures of this car. There are 24 pictures at the top of the ad and the balance are here. Place your bids after ALL of your questions have been answered and you are ready to take ownership. I will ship worldwide and will do what I can to make this transaction a pleasant experience.
