This premium optioned Chevy Volt is a terrific car with brand new Michelin tires 9/15/15. The Volt premium upgrade is a $4000 additional charge, so this car is not comparable with the base model. I have owned this Volt since late 2012. I have had zero problems with the car. In the three years that I have owned it, I have mostly driven it without the need for gasoline. With a good charge this car gets 40 miles which is enough to take you most anywhere, after that the motor runs so there is no anxiety about not having power to get somewhere. I am including the 240 charger which is a $450 item if you were to buy it. Additionally the car comes with a 110 charger that takes 12 hours (far too long) to charge the vehicle. Damages. There are no damages and the car was never in an accident. Motor/generator is great and it gets about 43mpg. The battery is great and holds a charge well-it is also warrantied for 8 years or 100,000 miles. The body of the car is exceptional with no dents, scratches or dings. The glass is perfect as well. The leather seats are great and the heated seat option is great. The wheels are in great shape with minimal wear. The car blows cold air conditioning as well. This Volt was garage kept, and nobody ever smoked in it. I am a 50 year old man with no children. Additionally no pets were kept in the car. Everything works as expected. The main concern was a “pop” noise coming from the front suspension – related to the front struts. The struts were undergoing a redesign by GM. This Volt was repurchased by GM because of their inability to correct this: “pop” noise coming from the front suspension. Dealer states on 6/21/2012 that the Technical assistance Team has worked with the dealer and engineering. They have confirmed that the vehicle is now repaired and operating as designed since the front struts and springs were installed with the updated design I then purchased the vehicle in October of 2012 for $30,000. At the time it had 8000 miles on it. It has been superb. No problems whatsoever. I will include this GM dealer documentation, and the letter certifying that the repairs have been completed.
