1969 Dodge Charger Project CarNO RESERVE!! Up for auction is a project 1969 Dodge Charger. I had plans for the car but have too many projects and decided to pass it on to someone else. The car was originally black with a black vinyl top, and red interior. It was taken off the road many years ago for whatever reason and used as a parts car, then parked out in a field. It sat for many years before I purchased it. During that time, field mice made a home of it with many nests. There was a huge nest on the driver side of the engine bay which caused the front driver side frame rail to be completely rusted beyond repair. The driver side rear rail has a couple spots that could be repaired. The passenger side rails look alright from what I can tell. Of course, all of the floors will need replacing, as you can see in the photos. The body will need work all the way around with much or it needing replacement sheet metal. As you can see, there were a couple sections that were cut out for patch panels around the back glass and the passenger side trunk gutter. There are a couple bondo spots that have been rattle canned black, but other than that, that body still has all most all of it's original paint. This car was optioned with a rear defrost which is still intact. I doubt that it works since it sat in the weather with no back glass. The grille in the car is broken as you can tell but maybe you could use parts of it to patch together another grille. The good thing is, FINALLY the '69 grille is being reproduced, so finding one will not be a problem. The car was originally a 318 with an auto on the floor. There is a small block engine in the car (I'm not sure if it's the original numbers matching block) but there is no transmission in the car. The motor seems to be locked up, but I haven't given much effort to try and turn it over. There is a non Sure Grip 8 3/4 rear end in the car. The car was equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and manual drum brakes. At some point, prior to me purchasing the car, it looks as though a tree fell across the back of the car and busted out the back glass. A limb must have gone through the windshield and dented the dash frame too. You can see this in the pictures also. The original VIN tag is still intact to the dash frame. As I mentioned... this car was formerly used as a parts car. Someone needed the passenger side lower control arm. Instead of making the car non mobile, they replaced the control arm with one from a truck or a big car (Fury, Monaco, etc.), I don't know... but the car sits crooked because the stock Charger torsion bar is too small for the control arm. I placed wooden blocks between the control arm and frame rail so that it would at least sit up and roll around. But yes, the car does roll fine. There are various parts missing from the car here and there and should be considered a parts/project car. When I got the car, there were two tires that would not hold air. I have two of my "rollers" on the rear that do not go with the car. I will try to find two other wheel/tires that will hold air. You may want to bring a couple rollers just in case. I purchased the car as a "PARTS CAR" so it did not have a title. I was given a bill of sale and I will issue a notarized bill of sale with the car to the new owner. The car is located in Jackson, Mississippi. I can help load the car if you send a transporter.
