Vehicle Detail
*ONE OWNER*Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Country EditionMeticulously cared for and kept in pristine conditionFor 30 years now my passion has been focused on original vehicles that are in beautiful condition. My collection is full of them. Mostly 60's and 70's vintage but my heart skips a beat whenever I find something unique that has been loved and babied it's whole life. This Cherokee certainly fits within my window of interest. If I said that it had 40,000 miles even a skilled and trained eye would believe it. Outstanding condition in every way. This is the very last of the first generation small Cherokee line. She was produced in July of 1996. Production for the newly designed 1997 Cherokee's began the very next month, making my Jeep one of the final units made. I suppose that I would technically be the second owner even though I bought this Jeep to add to my collection. I have appreciation for vehicles that have been cared for and maintained to a high standard. The condition of my Jeep is obvious the second you walk up to it and even more so when you take the time to look closer. These little Cherokee's were generally purchased for their utilitarian capabilities and as such they experienced more aggressive use. Wear and tear occurred fairly quickly from camping trips, light-duty hauling and occasional off-road travel. My Jeep escaped all of that!! Gentle use only!! Babied and appreciated since new. The interior photos will say it all. It is pristine. Sold new at NORTHWEST JEEP EAGLE and has always been right here in Portland Oregon. Original condition is nothing short of amazing. Body, paint, interior and mechanical components are all outstanding. Please examine the photos I've provided below closely. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words. This is the case for my Cherokee. Even if I didn't type another sentence, your impression would be fully formed by the time you viewed the 4th or 5th photo. Countless details separate this Jeep from almost all others. Simply incredible and one of the nicest I've ever seen. For those that prefer written details just as much as clear pictures, I will continue the description process under several of the upcoming photos. I will make a few brief comments under certain pictures throughout the photo display. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Cherokee in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the Jeep clearly and accurately from as many angles as I could think of. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching it for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My telephone number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 22nd of September at 7:30PM Pacific.I'm looking for a buyer! I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a reasonable offer and the Jeep becomes no longer available.*If you are outside of the U.S. or Canada, PLEASE contact me to confirm your bidding activity as genuine.* Everyone, please be sure to read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. -5 day-NO RESERVE AUCTIONI did not set a reserve price on my Cherokee. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see in my driveway at home the day before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my Jeep and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE > Body and paint are in beautiful condition. There are no flaws that need to be mentioned. A handful of tiny rock chips and very light superficial blems on the hood are all that can be found even on close inspection. No rust anywhere and never exposed to a salted road. No accident history or previous repairs. The paint is factory original. The finish is gorgeous and holds a high shine. Exterior trim, both chrome bumpers and all exterior moldings are in wonderful shape. There are no cracks in any of the plastic trim pieces or front grille area. Again, the exterior is in outstanding condition. Every angle and view show just how nice it truly is. This Jeep is the exception to many rules. The interior is MINT. Real sheepskin seat covers have always protected the seats. I removed them for these photos but they are included. Absolutely every area you examine on the insides are in spectacular condition. A nicer original interior can not be found. There are many photos provided down this display. The interior is like new. Nothing more needs to be said. One of the best engines ever produced. The AMC 4.0 in-line 6 cylinder. Many variants of this power plant occurred over the decades but they were all excellent motors. Of course, the addition of fuel injection and several other improvements by the time this engine was installed were certainly desirable upgrades. This High-Output 4 liter is well regarded as the very best. Please note: The paint holds a high gloss and shine. Reflections of the surroundings are easy to see in the finish. They are NOT flaws. Even the chrome bumpers and grille are nearly perfect. No pitting, peeling or tarnish. I will make a few more comments under photos that appear to show blemishes/damage and remind everyone that it's simply reflections. I'm hoping to keep my Yakima roof carrier but willing to leave it for the right buyer. It has never carried anything! I just think it adds to appearance. On the right of this photo, the fender flare seems to show spots. NO! Just reflections from the sun. There are no dents, dings or ugly scratches. Yes, she's 19 years old but in extremely nice shape. Usually it takes a much darker color for images to show like this. That's me kneeling down on my driveway and waving as I snap this pic. Hello All glass is excellent and crystal clear. Look closely- There is a little clear coat fading on the vent panel. The paint that automobile manufacturers used in this era was prone to flaking, peeling and fading. Being well cared for and parked in the garage has kept the paint on my Jeep in beautiful condition. Factory alloy wheels with new Firestone tires. Please note: The rear bumper is perfect and the chrome is like new. The lower edge is showing the cracks on my driveway like a mirror. The sacrifice I make for providing clear and life-like photos. This is the higher optioned Country Edition. The interior is near showroom new. Even the material on the seats is still bright. Nothing is soiled or stained. The insides have NOT been shampoo'd, scrubbed or dyed. Lightly cleaned when needed. The interior does the best job of documenting the gentle use this Jeep has experienced. Floor mats have always covered the carpeting. Everything on my Jeep functions perfectly with regards to power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, all lights, gauges, heat, cold air-conditioning, cruise control, etc... The upgraded CD player is the only non-original item. This model year also came with a driver side air-bag. Every door panel looks like new as well. Rear seat appears to have never been sat on. Headliner is perfect and like new. Even the cargo area is spotless. No alternations were done while installing the updated CD player. It fit perfectly in the factory radio location. Also, all of the simulated woodgrain trim throughout the interior still looks brand new. Drives flawlessly at all speeds. The 4.0 liter engine runs exactly like it should. Always starts easily and has impressive power in all ranges. Extremely quiet and smooth running. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly and the 4X4 transfer case engages into all modes like new. Brakes and suspension feel tight and sound. As mentioned previously, the tires are new. Well maintained it's whole life. She's nearly 20 years old so typical maintenance and up-keep should be expected but general service and repairs on these rigs are very inexpensive. I am not aware of any current issues, deferred maintenance or needed repairs at this time. She is a pleasure to drive. Simply turn the key and go. Quality care and maintenance is obvious once you view the engine compartment photos. Yes, cleaning can make a difference but there is no substitute for always being taken care of. Undersides are excellent. Never exposed to salted roads or harsh chemical de-icers. No corrosion issues. All mechanical components are performing properly. At 19 years old there is some typical greasy residue on the bottom side of the engine. Nothing of concern but just about the only complaint I can think of. It's such a wonderful vehicle in all respects. I'm hoping that my appreciation for this little Cherokee is contagious and that your impression is fully formed by now. It is simply outstanding and one of the nicest unaltered examples anyone will find. Thanks again-____________________________________________________________Terms of Sale: 19yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS:Please read and agree with the following:I have described my Jeep honestly and to the best of my ability based on over 30 years of owning and driving classic cars. This is one of the finest examples you will find. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Cherokee and everything is in excellent working order per my written description provided above. I enjoy driving her without concern and would not hesitate taking a cross-country trip today but she is almost 20 years old so routine service and repairs should be expected based on her age. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the Jeep for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding, NOT after. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. Free and clear Certificate Of Title will be provided. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My telephone number is 503-887-1231 PAYMENT TERMSA $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements please contact me BEFORE you bid and I will try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland Oregon for over 10 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. *The remaining balance in-full is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds.* Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding and that my payment time-lines can be met. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending.TRANSPORT - SHIPPINGI am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this entire process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately dispatched trucking company. They have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last several years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them before I started using only private carriers were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange.*If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me to confirm your bidding activity as authentic.* If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or even a low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids at any point for these reasons. Email or phone contact is fine. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
