This auction is for an all original 1966 Mustang coupe project car showing 76513 miles on the odometer believed to be correct. I have a stack of receipts for all maintenance since new. The car runs and drives flawlessly down the highway. The 289 2V engine has a freshly rebuilt carburetor, fresh tune up including new points, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The engine starts and runs smoothly with no ticks, rattles or smoke. There is rust in most of the normal Mustang locations including floorpans, quarter panels, inner and outer wheel houses, and lower front fenders. Partial front floorpans were riveted in. Most of the paint is original and is checked, cracked, worn through in places. The deluxe Pony interior is in excellent condition except for some tears in the driver seat. I believe this car to be a numbers matching original. The manual steering is smooth and tight. The manual drum brakes work acceptably but could use a rebuild. This car would be an excellent candidate for restoration, or you can just drive it as is and enjoy the patina. The car is located in Galva, Illinois and can be inspected by appointment.
