Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda CB400F with original Don Vesco Cafe Royal fairings! To start with, watch this video showing the motor running and excellent condition of the bike. Note that this video was taken before 100% completion of the restoration. The velocity stacks are not installed on the carburetors and the motor is not fully tuned at this point. The intake noise from lack of velocity stacks is apparent. This is gone with the final tuning of the motor as it sits now, ready for sale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEm9qbFO03Q Hi I'm Evan from RaceTech Electric. This is my new personal Ebay account that I have started, and I'm still building up positive feedback on this account. You can see my business ebay account 'racetechelectric', which has over 1400 positive feedback. This was a personal project bike, so I'm selling it under my personal account. I just wanted to explain the low feedback level in case you were wondering. I have an absolutely amazing 1975 Honda CB400F Four w/ original Don Vesco Cafe Royal fairings for you today! Check out the pictures and description, and let me know if you have any questions! This car has a clean CA title, and non-op registration, so it's ready to be registered in any state or county. This bike is an amazing 1975 Honda CB400F Four with a full set of original Don Vesco Cafe Royal Fairings. These fairings were original to this bike, and it has a racing pedigree going back to the late 70's. This bike has been restored and rebuilt from the ground up. Every single part was either replaced, re-manufactured, cleaned, or painted and is in new condition. Mechanically the bike is new. Engine was completely rebuilt with pistons, rings, main bearings, gaskets, grommets, etc. It starts easily, runs perfectly, and is basically new. All systems work perfectly and are in like new condition. new tires, brakes, all electrical and lighting are perfect. All new bright red paint in perfect condition. Ready to show, display, or ride anywhere! More pictures are available by asking of the rebuild and restoration process. All work was completed by a professional mechanic and motorcycle restoration expert. The Don Vesco Cafe Royal fairings are original pieces from the mid 70's. They have the Don Vesco 'V' arrow symbol molded into them. The Cafe Royal fairings are extremely rare as opposed to the Rabid Transit fairings that were much more common in this era. There are no more than 2 or 3 sets of these fairings that have been seen since the late 70's, and probably not another set in existence today. If you have any more information on these fairings, I'd love to hear it! Here are some quotes from an email exchange with the Vesco family while looking for information on these fairings: " ...The pictures you sent to Vesco Racing is of our Cafe Royal fairing and seat combination. The fairing was an attempt to build a high quality cafe fairing with some practicality built in. The seat had a hinged upholstered back that flipped down to allow access to storage in the tail. The seat shape came from our "Daytona" seat that was used to streamline the back end of the racing bikes. The basic fairing was expanded to be our "Rabid Transit" sport touring fairing. We did not make many of that(cb400f) mount. I have attached a photo of the original prototype fairing and seat that was mounted on a Yamaha RD250. The photo was taken at Bonneville in front of the Silver Bird after Don set the record at 300+ mph if I remember correctly. Hope that answers your questions about the fairing/seat combo..." "...We don't have any records of the amount of fairings produced, the Cafe Royal was kinda expensive for the smaller bikes and we probably made about 100 to 150 of those (most for the RD250/350) We made about 1500 of the larger Rabid Transit fairings, mostly for BMW and Suzuki motorcycles..." We are led to believe that with the rarity of the 1975 Honda CB400F Four, there might have been 5 of the Cafe Royal fairings made for them, if that many. Out of those, we have not been able to find any surviving sets other than these. I run my vehicle auctions starting from $0.99, with no reserve. I expect the condition of my vehicles to drive the bidding to a fair price for both of us. I require a $500 deposit to be paid by PayPal within 24 hours of winning the auction. I will accept payment in full via PayPal or cash in person. Those are the only payment methods acceptable. I require payment in full within 3 days of the auction closing. As long as payment is made, I can store the vehicle for up to 1 week while the buyer arranges pickup or shipping. I am happy to ship the vehicle worldwide, but this is at the buyers expense and arrangement. I will help with the shipping process by meeting the shipping company and helping load the vehicle. If you have any questions at all, please call me anytime, I'm happy to help. My cell phone is 619-985-2527. Or of course, message me through ebay.
