NO RESERVE AUCTION 1971 Honda CB500 Cafe Racer Video of it running here:https://youtu.be/1vIJr3DmAYc Video of a cold start, bike hadn't run for 3 days:https://youtu.be/bOLBomcV8vI Video of a ride on it, going through the gears: https://youtu.be/4OBlaeY5n6M Modifications include:Displacement increased to 550cccb650 camYoshimura reproduction 4 into 1 exhaustShowa USD forks Dual Front 6 piston calipers from a 1999 GSXR1000 CBR900rr master cylinder CBR1000rr rotorsGSX gas tank and custom seat cowlPingel petcock and fuel filterUni podsGSXR steering damperCustom rear setsNew clutch friction discscb650 solid state regulator/rectifierKick start onlyDynatec electronic ignition and coilsCB900 rear shocksDunlop TT100 tires with plenty of life left I bought this bike in 2012 and it had not been on the road since 1983. All wear items have been gone through and replaced where needed (bearings, brake shoes, ect.)Bike has the minimum wiring, no electric start, no turn indicators.Runs like a top and is super reliable, even after sitting for the winter (bike is in Vermont) starts on the 3rd kick, especially if you use the first two to prime.Fast for a small displacement bike from 1971 and handles amazing, plenty of stopping power with the GSXR front end. Not twitchy and I haven't seen a bit of wobble from the front end even before the steering damper was added. For those who know the CB500 clutch is the weak point in the bike, this bike has all the original parts in perfect condition including the cam, lifter sleeve and clutch rod.Transmission works great and shifts through all gears cleanly and easily. It is not perfect. Negatives include:Throttle grip housing cracked (does not effect throttle operation)Has a bit of rash here and there, notably on the mirror and alternator cover on the left side bottom.Paint is terrible, 5 out of 10. Looks ok from 15ft, but there are many imperfections including primer showing through, scratches, dings in the tank, poor body work, ect. Bike is dirty and greasy. I ride it and I think that's what it is, a riders bike. It is not a show bike, but it does get noticed and people always seem to like it. I'm selling this bike cause I bought another bike project and want to start on that. My wife says I can't keep both!Email or call with any questions 619-Three25-Nine342 Bike is being sold as is where is with no warranty implied or otherwise.Buyer to pay shipping costs, but I will work with buyer to arrange shipping.$1000 due at end of auction, balance due before shipping.
