Vehicle Detail
i am selling my fantastic 2006 metallic red Sprinter Van. This is the 140" wheel base model, 225" overall, 10 passenger super high top van. This has the legendary Mercedes Diesel engine and is just getting broken in with 108,000 miles. I am still driving it so it will go up some. I have a picture of a similar 2006 for sale here on eBay with over 1,000,000 miles!! This van has needed very little during my ownership. I just recently replaced the serpentine belt. I also just replaced a brake line, all others are good. I bought this van several years ago (I did not allow smoking and there was no odor of tobacco when I bought it. There have been dogs in it but not very often) and have used it for a furniture transportation van for my resale store. Fantastic mileage, you can plan on getting 25 MPG if you have a even steady foot. Compare that to the fuel economy of anything even remotely similar in size and it will pay for itself fairly quickly. Starts first time every time, we had some fairly cold weather this winter, low 20s and still started right up with the pause for the glow plugs. I am selling because I no longer need it. I wish it made sense to keep it as it is amazing. The back windows have a very dark tint so it's hard to see in, but as a driver you have great visibility. It is a pleasure to drive and handles like an SUV. My only beef is that it is hard to get in and out of and I am older with bad joints. This is not your run of the mill white Sprinter but a gorgeous metal flake red they call Amber Red Metallic. Real nice looking. It is 9 years old so it has a few life scars. I think the previous owner ( who used it to transport a rather large family's) had a dog that greeted them by jumping on the drivers dog, noticeable when close. Someone backed into it and broke the left headlight assembly and cracked the plastic bumper. I have an estimate from the local dealer to repair for $630.00, mostly the cost of the headlight assembly. I have the small body piece (in black, unfortunately). It does not appear to affect the headlight and has passed inspection several times since broken. I removed the seats (which had been washed when detailed at pickup) and put them in storage as soon as I got the van. I took them out the other day and they appear to have become stained from previous use ( remember, all those kids) they do not have any odor but you can see the staining. I have put two of the three seat assemblies back in. I still use the van and wanted to keep the back open. Will put in for delivery. Unfortunately when putting in the seats one of the assemblies got away from me and banged the slider. You can see the dent in one of the photos. The other photos were taken the day before and do not show the dent. The power door locks have a glitch because the rear door was replaced and doesn't line up quite right. You have to press lock twice before it will lock and you have to lock the rear door manually. The rear door and bumper were replaced because I was towing a boat and the trailer jumped off the ball( long story not really my fault) and rammed the back door. So both doors are new last year. The front tires are about 60% and the back are about 40% and should be considered for replacement. This van cost $43,668.00 when new. I have the sticker. She has been regularly serviced but I do not have all the records. It was traded in where I bought it, at a Dodge dealership. Please remember this is 2006 van, not a brand new van. I have tried to disclose everything I know of. If you have never had the bliss of standing upright while packing the back of a van you are in for a treat. I am not exactly sure the clearance but I am 5'9" and can walk anywhere and it is a few inches more on the sides of the A/C strip. It is possible I could assist with delivery within a few hundred miles. This can be discussed by email contact. The van AND the delivery will have to be fully paid for this option. Please contact me with any questions.
