This car is a 1980 Mercedes Benz 450 sl. It is one of a kind because it has a manual 4 speed transmission. This is a classic car, a rare find, and runs like an Autobahn car should. I bought this car a year ago, and I drive it every weekend. It needs the following: AC compressor bearings are locked. The wiring harness for the windows needs work. I have a new heat shield that needs installed in the lid. I have new sun visors that need installing. It has some rust that needs to be removed. The chrome on the doors needs re assembly, but all of it is there. The tops are both present and the hard top looks like new, but the rag top is pretty worn. It needs general cleaning but, its street worthy. The lights and blinkers are fine. I have completely rebuilt the front end, new tie rods and tie rod ends. New Shocks on all 4 corners, new breaks all the way around, new bushings, new middle shock absorber, New Electric window motors and switches. The interior is missing the radio, I removed it, it didnt work when I bought it. I needed access to wiring so it needs your new radio. The seats are in great shape, and all the wood on the dash is in great shape. The paint is like new, one bubble on the back side below the 450 near the zero and four, see in the photos.Why should you buy this car, its a manual transmission 4 on the floor. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE ? In 15 years this is the first one Ive seen. The transmission has miles to go, and the engine idles perfectly with NO problems from sitting around and having a varnish issue. Many of the "garage kept" 35 and 40 year old cars have varnish in the fuel lines. They wont run, or run with no power and they almost always idle rough. Not this car. The speedometer and tachometer work. The speedometer cable was changed recently, and no over heating.Ive had this car for a year, and own a second one. Time to sell. I know someone out there is going to want this car, even with some work that needs to be done.
