Vehicle Detail
Up for auction: 1932 Ford pickup that was in the Daryl Starbird show and magazine in 1977. This little truck truck used to roam the streets of Wichita, Kansas, with Shorty Orman behind the wheel. It no doubt shut down many a hot rodder with its 402 big block and four-speed trans. Shorty's gone but his beautiful little truck lives on. When I bought the truck from Shorty he told me, "When you let her out of the shoot you better be holding on, or she'll turn around in the road with you!" Shorty also said he made many a trip to Colorado Springs and Denver for various car shows so she's roadworthy. I saw a wall full of trophies that the little truck had won over the years but Shorty was reluctant to give them up. If anyone knows what happened to Shorty's trophies I would sure be interested in some of them to add to the truck. The truck still has the 8-track tape player in the headliner and a CB radio, just as it did back in the 70s and also comes with a box of 8-track tapes. The bed on the truck was made out of redwood and looks like a quality job. It has the early finned aluminum valve covers it ran in the 70s. It also has an aftermarket radiator, as I said, a 402 big block Chevy four-speed transmission, a 57 Chevy rear end, new headers and new exhaust. It also comes with the Daryl Starbird magazine from 1977. The truck looks good with a little age starting to show. The firewall could stand to be cleaned up a little and repaired and repainted. I was told the truck was built in the late 60s and at that time was painted dark blue. The front motor mount is the only part of the truck that was a store bought hot rod part. I've tried to describe the condition of this old hot rod to the best of my ability so look at the pictures closely. Responsible reserve. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early. Sold "As Is". No returns - all sales final. Would consider trading for 1932/33/34 Coupe or Roadster project only.
