From the manufacturer:"In the 1960s, far from civilisation and regular roads, stripped down desert bikes based on Triumph twins and fitted with high level exhausts, dirt bike tyres and suspension were being used for hard recreational fun and competition on tough terrain. The Scrambler takes its inspiration from these very bikes. They were highly competitive and most famously were used by Hollywood superstar Steve McQueen for pleasure and in full competition. Including the 1964 International Six Day Trial (ISDT) in East Germany. We built the Scrambler to evoke that spirit of freedom and escape, carefree times when all you needed was a bike and somewhere to ride." This Scrambler is in Matte Green so it looks a lot like the bike Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape. That color is no longer made, and in my opinion it was by far the nicest. In addition the bike has seen substantial upgrades. Key improvements are:- Best available Andreani/Ohlins fork suspension in the front ($510)- Top of the line Ohlins suspension in the back ($889 from Ohlins USA)- Motogadget tachometer (€479 Chronoclassic from Motogadget Germany)- Triumph Scrambler Arrow 2 into 1 exhaust ($1,199) Rides beautifully, great condition, much much better than stock. Regularly serviced, most recently this morning (see maintenance checklist in photos). Happy bidding!
